After an exciting first half of the season dominated by the inter-team war at Mercedes. Dotted with reliability issues, many shunts, much ado about team orders, and culminating in a shuffled up race held in mixed conditions at the Hungaro Ring. Who do you think is the best driver so far in the 2014 season.

Aside from the Merc battle, there has been a number of young drivers making waves and scoring points. As well as more experienced drivers struggling to stay competitive with inferior equipment. And more than one interesting battle between teammates.

Who would you put in your car to drive?

So what have he actually done beside beating his not-so-motivated teammate ?

Bottas has been impressive all season.

I think we are seeing a future World Champion in the making, & seems to be a very humble & likable young man/driver.
Doesn't seemed to let the Media or attention get to him.

Great for the Sport.

Singlehandedly kept Ferrari in good points with a terrible car.

Kvyat by far, he is a champion in the making although i can't deny Ricciardo is having a great season, then Bottas would be right next to him, then Lewis Hamilton and Alonso... the rest of the field has done well, i believe Hulkenberg and probably Jean-Eric Vergne can do much better than this but for now it is early days to really tell.

PS: Kimi is by far the biggest disappointment, it is understandable that he is not used to the car and should naturally struggle for 1.5 seasons but he seems like not willing to push just like in 2008 when Felipe was faster almost every race but i guess that's Kimi being Kimi.

It simply has to be Ricciardo for me. He's making Vettel look so ordinary and is handling himself well.

Bottas simply because Williams has surprised me like hell this season after some very bad seasons. And being practically the only competitor worrying the Mercs in qually.

But thank you Ricciardo for being a brilliant driver and not being a twat.

In all fairness lads as much as I like Riccardo, he only one two races and was disqualified from one of them. Rosberg however has won lots of races this year and really showed how well he can work under pressure and that is why he got my vote.

He has officially won 2 races, and finished 1st in a race that he was excluded from. Also, he's third in the drivers championship, and trouncing his teammate.

Speaking of his teammate, I see Seb got a couple of votes up there. Where are the Vettel fans?

Also, 1 vote for Bianchi so far. I voted for Ricciardo myself. But I thought Bianchi deserved consideration both for putting his shitty car in the points, and for taking Kimi's seat in Friday practice after Silverstone and putting up very competitive times.

Ericsson

Well, he has driven a formula 1 car this year. I will give him that.

I was actually hoping that Kobiyashi would show some strength this year. Sucks that he's in such a terrible car. I would love to see them turn it around.

All Rosberg has to do is beat Hamilton... Hamilton is quicker, but Rosberg is able to handle the pressure much better it seems.
Doesn't make him a driver of the first half of this season though to me.
Ricciardo and Bottas have both shown that they are great and complete drivers, both are beating their team mates (although beating Massa isn't really that amazing). Ricciardo gets my vote.
I also think Alonso did a great job, but so did Bianchi!
And I also think that Kvyat has proved himself this year... maybe not necessarily a World Champion, but he is quick and a good driver.

My mistake, it was a podium in Australia, not the win.

The main thing that stands out in my memory of that event was that when asked how he felt in the podium interview, Ricciardo said that he was "tripping balls right now".

Oh by the way, I voted Ricciardo because I love him as if he were my son. Slightly different to the homosexual love I had for Mark Webber
