I take this back.

Man, if the first dry period was just ONE lap shorter... then I'd have saved a pitstop, 15 laps on the wrong tyres and some wobbling. In that case yes, I'd have been a lucky dog. :) In the end I think I got more or less the position I deserved based on pace, so my weather luck was neutral today.

Congrats to Andreas and the others who scored a podium, you took the opportunity given by PHA at this track and went with it.

As for the nature of PHA matching at tracks like this or Indy Oval as we saw last season, I don't think it's particularly balanced as it makes a lot of the other aspects of a manager's package like the driver or tyres relatively insignificant. Sure it creates some crazy racing and I get that some may like that, but I feel it rewards those who are willing to commit to that type of strategy instead of those managers who have the best package. And to me that's not quite what the game should be.

In general I like PHA as it is currently implemented, but I think some of the most extreme tracks could use a bit of tweaking to the PHA values to tone that aspect down a little bit.

The main proof of how skewed PHA got is in very balanced tracks a 3-4 levels higher car with premium tyres and a top driver still has a very hard time to put a rival below the 90% race completion. Instead, in very unbalanced tracks tyres, overall car level, driver and other parts of the package are largely irrelevant. If PHA matching is so overpowered in unbalanced tracks, it should be very punishing for skewed cars in very balanced tracks as well.

Thanks everyone, I guess my planning finally paid off. :P
Well I assume some people already knew this when they saw my pace at Sakhir, since I was way too quick in wet conditions, if looking at Conti tyre wet performance.

It certainly is a topic to talk since when I started to play this game, I never paid any attention to PHA whatsoever. (Probably that's why I sucked to promote to Master as well. ;) ) But now as the change was made, this indeed gives some "interesting" opportunities for people to plan already a whole season ahead.
But this comes still with a very big downside - your car will need rebuilding of course, and for tracks like Brem, what's coming next, I may just as well dream of 90%. So you may retain with this, but surely you can't do much the whole season after that race as well, in case there wont be any P tracks again. *cough*
Really 50/50 in my opinion to really say if it's good or bad - good for people who try to retain with this, but when this plan backfires, then you'll wont have many chances to do much anymore. And bad indeed for people who try to be consistent and may not score enough with well-rounded package.

Still, feeling is great in this certain time period where we live now, so it surely boosts my own motivation as well, not just driver's today. ;) Winning in Elite is really something else than winning in any other group. I also got somehow 11 new achievements...

Now I may as well go back into my cave, since next race shall be very fun for me... I mean perfect temps as well. :D

By the way - thanks Jan, for letting me pass. https://imgflip.com/i/3v8ejd

Remember that M. Morozov also had a random tech problem pitstop on that Bremgarten race few seasons ago when he eventually finished 2nd. It’s just how game engine works. :/

Once again a crazy race.

I'm not against toning it down for the most unbalanced tracks but as others have pointed out, exploiting it comes with a price and requires preparation, it's not a freebie you can choose to annoy others.
There should be Elite retention strategies available at the cost of ruining your account, otherwise we all would just build our packages up and wait 5 years until we are competitive.

I hadn't even seen my pit at the end. I was watching Dmitry's race, PIPI heading for a podium, taking random, making a pit at the end, that I didn't even see my close fight with Bert.

Well the start crash made you push way more legendary and you still retained, so I think the admins didnt succeeded :)
