My deepest condolences to Nieto's family. He was the cause of the motorcycling boom in Spain, Leaving the road made for Crivillé, Pedrosa, Lorenzo or Márquez among many others. Even his sons Gelete and Pablo and his nephew Fonsi participated in the World Champs.

Thanks to him, Ángel is my name. RIP Little Master 12+1

It´s incredible how many times he crashed while racing, and now doing the right thing on street he passes away. Once on last race of championship in Jarama Circuit he was not able to participate due to injuries and would loose the championship. While fans were leaving, not to see Ángel not being world champion, he announced he would participate. And he got champion.

Adiós Ángel, i will remember you specially every time i visit my grandma, she has her flat in Zamora, birthplace of this great sportman and just in front of the Angel Nieto Sportscentre.

Given the nature of the game and a lot of its user base, major motor racing names (not just anyone associated with but significant names) would be permitted their own thread (and hopefully used to discuss their career, achievements and memories of them and such like and not just everyone saying "RIP")

So apparently 13 championships, the 3rd most wins in motorcycle history apparently doesnt warrant his own thread :P

I personally wasnt old enough to watch him race, but just reading up on him, makes you see how much of a legend he was in the motorcycle world
