Kyle and Nazir -- thanks for pointing that out. In theory NEW would/will be for Newcastle, MIN for Minnesota United, and MAN for Mantova, but Excel is crossing up the Vlookups somehow.

Working on it now.

EDIT: I also see that it's somehow through the other standings as well, not to worry.

2ND EDIT: Figured it out -- fix and updated charts should be out in 5 minutes or so.

In the Premier League, it's a three-horse race, with Manchester United and VVV Venlo under some intense pressure. For VVV Venlo, they've been here before, winning the PL in Season 20. That's not the case for Manchester United though. And lurking just behind is Mantova, who needs things to break correctly -- but that's also how they won last season, so who knows?

In the Championship, it's official that Hearts of Oak will be going straight through, having secured promotion for their second straight season. It's also looking good for Cherno More, who are 3 points up in the last automatic promotion spot! Behind them, 3 teams are battling for the playoff position, and a chance to make it to the top flight.

In Division? It's all about MK Dons, who have secured promotion for next season. Newcastle United who looked pretty sure 2 or 3 matchdays ago, still look good -- but it's far from guaranteed. And, just like in the Championship, it's 3 teams in the hunt for the 2 playoff positions, with Cambridge United having to hope for a slip-up.

League Schedule
Jan 20/21 - Dudley Cup/Beagles Trophy Semifinals
Jan 27/28 - League Day 9 (Last League Day!)
Feb 3/4 - Dudley Cup/Beagles Trophy Final
Feb 10/11 - Promotion/Relegation Playoffs

Tiebreaker

/gb/NewMail.asp?IDM=25844&txtSubject=FP%20Knockout%20SF

TIE-BREAKER PREDICTION: Specify the minute (from 1st to 90th) when you think the fastest goal from the matches above will be scored. Example: if you think the first goals in each match were scored in the 14th, 42nd, 31st and 12th minute respectively, just say 12th minute. (Source to be used for tie-breaker verification: Soccerway.)

If you send scorelines only, I will assume a prediction befitting that scoreline - for example: if you said 2 - 1, I will assume a Home win. If you miss the first deadline, send me the outcomes to the remaining matches.

1 day left to get picks in -- 5/8 semifinal sets in so far!

Reminders to come.

----------------------------------------------
4/4 friendly sets in.

Current list of friendlies:
New York Red Bulls vs. Cambridge United
MK Dons vs. Leicester City

Challenges for friendlies still welcome -- send picks right after you make a challenge. If challenges are unanswered, I will fill in with Cork City, or match up two unmatched teams.

Well, the finals of both the Dudley Cup and the Beagles Trophy are now set! In the Beagles Trophy it's Legia Warsaw, with a mid-season manager change and all, who will take on Premier League side Ajax. And, in the Dudley Cup, it's Glasgow Rangers, having not won the Dudley Cup since Season 11 who stand in the way of a repeat performance by LionsXII and Chew Kai Wen, who look to become the first side to successfully defend their Dudley Cup!

And, so, the final league weekend arrives, with 5 teams theoretically in the running for the title, and 3 with more than a realistic shot at it!

We've got matches with meaning up and down the ladder... teams attempting to avoid relegation or get themselves at least into a playoff game with a change to dig themselves out. We've got a match that's for an automatic promotion spot from Division between Stourbridge and Newcastle United, and a tight battle for playoff spots behind them!

Who will come out on top and achieve glory, or who will bear the ignominy of defeat? We'll find out this coming weekend in the FP League!

So -- as some of you might know, this weekend is Andrei's last league fixture, as he rides off into retirement. So let's talk with the FP League legend before his last weekend:

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

You've been a staple in FP League for years -- why hang up the boots now? And, the people want to know.... might we ever see you come back in the future?

Andrei: It comes a time when you know you should hang up your boots. That time for me is now. As for returning, it's unlikely.

What's your favorite FP League memory or moment?

Andrei: Difficult to say. I guess it was the end of that first season, when I won that first title. I had joined the game more out of curiosity, to see what it's all about. It was quite pleasantly surprising to win that first season. Even if it was in a different format than what we have now.

How long to you think that FP League will continue to see two managers dominate the Premier League like Stefan (VVV Venlo) and Rafael (Santos, Mantova) have done?

Andrei: I'm predicting that someone might break that domination sooner rather than later. Maybe even this season, who knows?

Where do you see FP League headed in the future?

Andrei: With Mr. Greg Tierney at the helm, surely not into the sunset. :)

I'm going to give you the floor, Andrei, but before I do... on behalf of everyone, I just want to give a hearty thank you for all you've done in getting this game going and keeping it going for so many seasons! The floor is yours... any final comments?

Andrei: I would like to thank you for having me all this season, either as a player or as a host. I know I might've made some poor match picks during the seasons. I hope you can forgive me for that. Nonetheless, I hope you had fun with me as a host and I hope you will continue to have fun with an excellent host that is Greg.

And remember, the ball is round. Anything can happen. :)
