 🏁 GPA Manager - S1 🏁

After the beta season, GPA returns for its first full outing, with a maximum of 18 spots available for the new campaign. There will be at least 4 spots available for new players. Returning players can keep their team spot from last season. Players changing teams will not get the bonus.

Basics

The game follows the GPRO calendar at every Friday race and gives all players the chance to compete on the same level.

> Each player starts with 1000 credits.
> You bid on car CCPs, driver skill and practice time. These add together and multiply to give you a score in both Qualifying and the Race.
> Unspent credits will carry forward to the next Race.

Team Focus

Team Leaders (the person occupying the first driver slot) must choose the team focus from the 5 listed below. Both maangers will get the same season starting bonus.

Driver (+25 skill boost for the season) - A better skilled driver will perform especially better in Qualifying and on a wet track.
R&D (+25 season boost to your choice of CCP - P, H or A) - A good Research and Design department yields a development advantage.
Staff (+25 minutes at every practice session) - A high skilled crew and technical team brings more efficiency and time on track for race setup.
Facilities (+0.25 season base multiplier boost) - Good facilities produce better performance overall, with a base of 0.75 in Qualify and Race.
Title sponsor (+500 credit financial boost) - More cash is always nice to have and bolsters your bidding power, especially at the season start.

Bidding

> The race form must be completed in FULL with your first submission for each race.
> All bids must be in integers. Minimum bid = 0. Tied bids will be separated by earliest submission.
> If you do not make a bid for a characteristic you won't win anything for it.
> On Thursday evening of each week I will post the top 5 bidders (not the amounts) of each category.
> Everyone who submitted a bid at this point will get a bonus of +200 added to their qualifying and race total.
> You'll be able to revise up your bids with a second submission before the deadline - lower bids are not permitted.
> If you make changes to your race options with your second submission you will lose the bonus.

CCPs

> Your car has 3 characteristic types just like GPRO - Power, Handling and Acceleration. You make a bid for each characteristic each race.

1st = 125 | 120 | 115 | 110 | 105 | 100 | 95 | 90 | 85 | 80 | 75 | 65 | 65 | >=14th = 50

Each race you can choose to retain 40% of what you gained from one CCP that you earnt in the previous race, or, you can choose to retain 40% of the Driver Skill or Practice minutes won. You'll also keep 20% of the highest characteristic of those not already retained and will be added onto what you won in the current race. So, if you had won 80 Power CCPs in the previous race and chose to retain it, then earnt 90 Power CCPs in the next, your total will be 122 for that CCP. Lastly, you'll gain between 25-75 CCP from one chosen characteristic in testing.

Test CCP gain = 25 CCP + (credits spent * 0.02) - capped at 75.

Your CCPs are then multiplied to give an overall total for your car :

Your top characteristic will multiply by 2.5 in the dry or 2 in the wet.
Your 2nd characteristic will multiply by 2 in the dry or 1.6 in the wet.
Your 3rd characteristic will multiply by 1.5 in the dry or 1.2 in the wet.

If two characteristics equal the same value then they will multiply by the mean value (i.e 2.25, 1.75).

Driver Skill

Your Driver gets a score from this sum : 0.17 * (driver skill * number of corners) + 0.01 * (driver skill * average speed) * 1 (dry) * 1.2 (wet).

1st = 125 | 120 | 115 | 110 | 105 | 100 | 95 | 90 | 85 | 80 | 75 | 65 | 65 | >=14th = 50

Practice setup

Your practice minutes are multiplied by a setup factor that returns a greater worth depending on circuit characteristics.

1st = 125 | 120 | 115 | 110 | 105 | 100 | 95 | 90 | 85 | 80 | 75 | 65 | 65 | >=14th = 50

Practice setup score = practice minutes x practice multiplier x1 (dry) or x1.2 (wet)
Practice multiplier = corners/lap length * 0.23 + tyre wear factor + acceleration factor + handling characteristic factor

Tyre wear	Acceleration	Handling
V. High 2 14+ 2 14+ 2
High 1.5 11-13 1.5 11-13 1.5
Medium 1 9-10 1 9-10 1
Low 0.5 2-8 0.5 3-8 0.5
V. Low 0

Compound Performance

Qualifying
Grip	V High	High	Normal	Low	V Low
X Soft 900 800 675 575 450
Soft 700 625 525 450 350
Medium 500 450 375 325 250
Hard 300 275 225 200 150
Rain 600 525 450 375 300
Monsoon 200 175 150 125 100

Race
Temp	41+	31-40	21-30	11-20	1-10
X Soft 450 575 675 800 900
Soft 350 450 525 625 700
Medium 250 325 375 450 500
Hard 150 200 225 275 300
Rain 300 375 450 525 600
Monsoon 100 125 150 175 200

Each player has 1 of each dry compound on their roster at the season start. You choose one tyre for Qualifying and one for the Race. Qualifying performance depends on the track grip, while Race performance depends on the temperature of the race. Wet weather tyres are not part of your roster, but a free choice of the two are available in wet qualy/races which come with a cost of a downgrade or upgrade to your dry compounds. After the race your roster will update with the two unused tyres retained plus two tyres depending on those used in the previous race :

Extra Soft exchanged for Medium
Soft exchanged for Hard
Medium exchanged for Soft
Hard exchanged for Extra Soft

In Qualifying, Extra Soft and Soft tyres will exchange for +1 compound softer.

In the event of rain, players can choose from Monsoon or Rain tyres. They are then exchanged as follows :

Monsoon - The hardest tyre on your roster after the race is upgraded by +1 compound for each one used (i.e M > S).
Rain - The softest tyre on your roster after the race is downgraded by -1 compound for each one used. (i.e S > M).

Tyre Suppliers

Pipirelli is the default supplier for all managers. You can sign a contract with another supplier if you wish for an improved multiplier, but will come at a cost of some credits at each race. Suppliers get an additional boost of +0.25 within peak range. Contracts with suppliers other than Pipirelli must be posted in the thread by the end of the first Friday on the calendar.

All suppliers with exception of Pipirelli will supply a maximum of 5 customers as some do not have the operational means to handle a larger volume. Pipirelli however, as default supplier, have the capacity to supply any number of managers without a contract signed by the deadline.

Weather

Qualifying conditions = Dry or Wet as displayed in Q1 of the same race on GPRO.
Qualifying temperature = as displayed in Q1 of the same race on GPRO.

Race conditions = Dry or Wet as displayed in Q2/race start of the same race on GPRO.
Race temperature = as displayed in Q2/race start of the same race on GPRO.

Muiltipliers

The sum total of your Car, driver, practice and chosen tyres add together and then multiplied by the below factors in Qualifying and the Race.

Qualifying

Qualifying multiplier starts with a base of 0.5+ tyre supplier +

Risk : 0= 0, 1= 0.2, 2= 0.4, 3= 0.6, 4= 0.8, 5= 1, 6= 1.1, 7= 1.2, 8= 1.3, 9= 1.4, 10= 1.5 +
Circuit top PHA characteristic : CCP * 0.006 (shared value = 0.0045) +
Circuit 2nd PHA characteristic : CCP * 0.003 (shared value = 0.0015) +

Race

Race multipliers starts with a base of 0.5+ tyre supplier +

Qualify position : V Hard OT = 17-grid position * 0.1, Hard OT = 17-grid position * 0.09, Normal OT = 17-grid position * 0.08, Easy OT = 17-grid position * 0.07, V Easy OT = 17-grid position * 0.06
* (driver skill/125) +

Risk : 0= 0, 1= 0.2, 2= 0.4, 3= 0.6, 4= 0.8, 5= 1, 6= 1.1, 7= 1.2, 8= 1.3, 9= 1.4, 10= 1.5 +
Circuit top PHA characteristic : CCP * 0.006 (shared value = 0.0045) +
Circuit 2nd PHA characteristic : CCP * 0.003 (shared value = 0.0015) +

Money

Each race all players will be given 900 credits (minus tyre supplier) +
Qualifying : 11-grid position * 10
Race : 11-race position * 25
Fastest Lap bonus : +75 (sort = the player with the closest PHA accuracy, tie break = Softest tyre then Driver skill).
Sponsor bonus : achieve condition of chosen race sponsor.

You can carry forward credits from one race to the next. Unspent credits will earn 10% interest. The maximum interest paid is 250 credits. Interest is pad before your race winnings on your remaining balance after bids are made.

Overspent Credits
In the event of you spending too much money, one or more of your bids will be impacted with the below process applied :

1) Your highest bid will default to 0.
2) If still overspent, your next highest bid(s) will default to 0.
3) In the event of two same amounts, the one that appears lower on your list of offers will default to 0.

Sponsor options

Below are the sponsors you can choose each race. They all have specific conditions that must be met for them to give you money. The condition is based on the result of both cars in your team, not just your own.

Rolex : +150 credits - Race Win
Emirates : +125 credits - Podium
Petronas : +100 credits - Top 5
Johnnie Walker : +75 credits - Top 8
DHL : +50 credits - Top 12
Heineken : +25 credits - Not Last

+25 credits also awarded by all sponsors if the minimum condition is met AND both cars finish in the top 10.

Race points

1st = 25
2nd = 20
3rd = 16
4th = 13
5th = 10
6th = 7
7th = 5
8th = 3
9th = 2
10th = 1

End Of Season

> Constructor's bonus - 500 credits for 1st place, then 400 for 2nd, 300 for 3rd, 250 for 4th, 200 for 5th, 150 for 6th and 100 for 7th.
> You carry forward money above 1,000 credits with 50% tax paid on it. I.e, you end the season on 2,000 credits you carry forward 500.
> The two softest compounds remaining on your roster at the season end will carry forward into the next season.

Bumping this up and hoping to find some new blood to join the game. Renault and Red Bull are both looking for new managers to join them, so for now there will be just one extra new team spot, meaning a maximum of 8 teams. If the existing spots fill up then I may add a 9th team.

Team leaders are responsible for choosing the team focus (the manager in the first spot)...you can pm me your choice of focus whenever you like, it does not need to be made public - though you may want to make sure your team mate is aware of the focus so he can prepare better. The only thing that must be posted in the thread before the first race deadline is you tyre supplier choice.

Hope that makes sense :)

Looks like some (potential) rain to contend with then in the first race qualifying session. If the spots fill up by end of Tuesday then we'll go ahead with Laguna Seca as the season opener. If not, I'll delay things a week further and we'll have the Montreal race instead. Nobody wants rain anyway, least not my amateur driver ;D

Bumping up for new blood. There are 4 spots to fill...one at Red Bull, another at Renault and then a new team. Ideally would prefer to fill the 2 spots at Red Bull and Renault first, just in case we need to stick with 14 players like last season.

Some good news....

Laguna Seca will be the first race of the season.

That means the First Submission deadline is Thursday 23:59 CET and Final Submission deadline Saturday at 11:59 CET.

Tyre supplier choice for all players must be made by Friday. Those who don't make a choice will sign an automatic contract with Pipirelli.

Team leaders, please can you confirm by pm to me your choice of Team Focus. Don't forget, you may want to inform your team mate of this choice, or discuss it with him if you wanted.

There is still room for two more players to form a new team if there were to be any late signups. If not, we'll have 14 players same as last season.
