Ah yes didnt know if we are doing the Womens world cup or not. Glad we are!!

I have no strong feelings either way.

But even I know that for some reason the US are very good at the women's soccer.

Bálint Turi-Kováts - Switzerland
Kyle Morris - Denmark
Peter Willmore - England
Chew Kai Wen - Singapore
Keith Partridge - Spain
Martin Irla - Uruguay
Ville Pohjanen - Finland
Richard Robin Paukson - Estonia
Jun Ho - Hong Kong
Stefan Gommans - Liechtenstein
Wopke Hoekstra - France

Łukasz Dudek - Vanuatu
Shannon Fuerte - (team pending)

Richard Luijendijk - Andorra
Attila-Gyula Varady - Hungary
Dominik Karda - Czech Republic
Tim Wagner - Germany

Entered, but pending spot (1)
Cameron Halsall - (team pending)

Cameron is pending because there was 1 automatic open spot with Matija abandoning mid-S25, and I received Shannon's PM first. If 1 active league manager doesn't want to play the World Cup (note they would not lose their normal league team in that case), then Cameron has a guaranteed spot.

Deadline to Join/Confirm is May 31st, 23:59 CET!

It turns out that the FP office was much more efficient at getting the draw done... therefore:

The draw has been moved up to today, beginning at 19:30 CET!

It will be a completely random draw of all 32 teams entered, with 8 teams revealed every 20 minutes beginning at 19:30 CET, with the reveal of the last teams at 20:30 CET.

-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

In the meantime... the FP League Marketing Board is pleased to present the FP 2019 World Cup Logo!

So... with the draw out now, how are you all liking your chances? Which group got off easy, and which might be the "group of death"?

The first week's matches will come out on Monday!

I'm usually half-decent in group stages but then I tend to lose horribly in the first play-off round.

I think you all might be sleeping on Group B as a group of death -- it's managers that were 1st, 3rd, 4th, and 7th in the Premier League this past season!

There were no pots for this draw -- every spot was purely random :)

I'm not touching this with a 10 foot pole. If you face off in the round of 16, there's no match preview for you :)

Group Stage, Week 1

It's that time -- the 32 nations are ready, about to take their first step towards the FP World Championship! Poland look to defend their 2018 title in a campaign that starts against Singapore, while 31 other teams will be chasing them down! Side note: I know there's "pending" matches this weekend like the Nations' League final, and I really would love to include them -- but it's difficult to ask you to pick matches where you won't know the sides playing until Thursday.

Matches to be predicted

Wuhan Zall vs. Henan Jianye (China: Super League) - Sat 13:35
Azerbaijan vs. Hungary (Euro 2020 Qualifier) - Sat 18:00
Finland vs. Bosnia and Herzegovina (Euro 2020 Qualifier) - Sat 18:00
Philadelphia Union vs. NY Red Bulls (USA: MLS)- Sun 2:30
Australia vs. Italy (Women's World Cup) - Sun 13:00
Santos vs. Atlético Mineiro (Brazil: Serie A) - Mon 0:00

All times CET.

DEADLINE - Saturday June 8th 13:35 CET

Send the outcomes to me by PM: home win, draw or away win.
You can use any way to make your prediction, just make sure it is clear.

3 days to get picks in!

7/32 pick sets in.

As a note, I will be sending/have sent my picks to Kyle for fairness (unless I'm playing against Kyle, in which case I'll figure out something else at that time). This is the same thing I do during regular FP League, in case people are wondering.
