Hello ladies and gentlemen. I was wondering if anyone has a way of cracking a password to unlock excel editing as its password protected.

Cheers in advance

Yes it's a fairly simple thing to do.

Having that said, the file is most likely protected for a reason.

I for one am not willing to discuss cracking on forums

As Mikko said.. fairly simple, bit dependant on what version you have and version of file. And then there is always the 'informed' crack, but that's professional only (auditors and such)

EDIT; also as with Mikko, probably protected for a reason.

ditto all said by Mikko and Jay. There are ways and means. It helps if you also are the proprieter of the product key. You can obtain this by both hook and by crook, but its not something that can or should be explained away on a public forum, since it is an illegal process.

As an alternative, you can enjoy the benefits of all excel features with the online version of MS Office. The cloud version is completely free.

https://products.office.com/en-gb/office-online/documents-sp...

You can upload both old(er) and new excel files there. That may (or may not) help your unlocking problem. However, its a free service, so if you can't afford to own excel outright on your PC or laptop, then its a fantastic way of enjoying all (or most) of the benefits without the ownership. I am assuming the reason your current version is locked is because you don't own it. Therefor, if you started to covert your excel(s) and their formulas to the online 'cloud' version, you can then in future avoid the problem by going through that process. That's assuming of course, the formulas you copy across and convert, you understand and wrote yourself in order to re-format correctly the parts that (may) need modifying :) - That's just cos, for example, there's sometimes problems encountered regards to (some) formulas from say an Office 2003 or 2007 file type.

beat of luck. This is the best that I can probably advise in terms of a legal process.

I mean, its not so much a security feature no, but i know the exact reason why he wants it and its the exact reason why i haven't given him the password for it :P

Try finding your own track bases instead of trying to essentially take them from essentially what is another teams tool that you haven't been a part of for 20 seasons :)

Wow, I see some fairly valid points but I wasn't expected to get roasted.

Thank you anyway for your help. You all have been great =)

And kyle I came to you as I respected you at the beginning when we first met (20 seasons ago)

Ps. No nudes =(
