Define "Record".
"a piece of information or a description of an event that is written on paper or stored on a computer: The weather centre keeps a record of the weather."
Does it match?
Edit: "the facts that are known about a person or a company and the actions they have done in the past: I won't fly with an airline that has a bad safety record (= whose aircraft have often had accidents)."

|
"the best performance or most remarkable event of its kind that has been officially measured and noted."
This is the one I am thinking of, since "holding a record" is generally associated with this definition from my understanding. But sure, if the clue just means that there is a weird/different fact associated with the person, the slave bit works.

It was weirder in his time.So much that there was no name for it. Nowadays lot's of guys can admit that they like to be spurred by Venus.

In Turkish, we have different words for different meanings of the word 'record'. The meaning for the 'record' in the clue is what Harsh said. Like Usain Bolt having a record.

And "kinda" (... record)?
Bolt is not a kinda record, is it?

Yeah, Ahmet, please be more precise. You wouldn't want to annoy the word torturers =]

Nah. That's a skill for a few. ;-)

Not the youngest, but should be there. Kind of.
Edit: but not weirdish. nerdish perhaps.
I keep my "record".

Quote ( Zé Pedro Paula @ June 18th 2020,17:22:04 ) Bolt is not a kinda record, is it? That was for explaining the wording of record. Bolt's record isn't a kinda.
An example of a different/weird record would be living in an elevator for 10 years. That's weird. What I'm trying to say is, the record is about something different, not common 'record' stuff like running 100m under 9s or eating 100 hotdogs in 10mins etc.

Just a "small" correction, it should be Venus in Furs. "Small" because I extrapolated from it. Bigly.

Conshelf I (Precontinent I). Underwater home built by Jacques-Yves Cousteau named after Diogenes of Sinope philosopher who holds a strange record of living in a clay wine jar. Diogenes was also a writer, one of his book named "Citizens of Athens".

For what role? No. Love is neither for offer nor for sale. I'm a gentleman. In public. At least. Anyway, it's a kinda whip.

Are you sure he wrote that book? Because i couldn't find it and apparently he wasn't so keen on writing. He seemed to prefer masturbating in public places and all that :)

He seemed to prefer masturbating in public places and all that :) Well, it's said in the Wiki that: "No writings of Diogenes survive even though he is reported to have authored over ten books, a volume of letters and seven tragedies." Strangely enough, but I have found on one Russian site the names of some of his books. But could not find the english-version of the equivalent site. https://fil.wikireading.ru/9999 In russian: Диоген сочинил множество произведений, среди которых «Афинский народ», «Государство», «Наука нравственности», «О богатстве», «О любви», «Аристарх», «О смерти» и прочие. Кроме того, он написал такие трагедии, как «Елена», «Фиест», «Геракл», «Ахилл», «Эдип», «Медея» и другие. Google translate: Diogenes composed many works, including The Athenian People, The State, The Science of Morality, On Wealth, On Love, Aristarchus, On Death, and others. In addition, he wrote such tragedies as “Elena”, “Fiesta”, “Hercules”, “Achilles”, “Oedipus”, “Medea” and others.

I don't think Athens is a name of a goddess. Athena or Athene?

I wonder if that isn't just the ancient equivalent of a modern... card board box. Wouldn't be any strange nowadays and perhaps since ever. He probably invented Flashing too.

Maxim, I thumbed it up. I'm not opposing anything. I'm not even sure that Athens may mean Athena too. I'm just doing what Diogenes did. Arguing. He trashed Socrates and Plato all the time. But I'm not trying to sabotage any lectures.
Living one day in a jar is a record by itself, no doubt. I mean by choice. But I think the record would be living underwater in a "jar". Maybe, just maybe one of the guys who did it is a philosopher and writer...

Quote ( Ahmet Sonverdi @ June 17th 2020,21:50:51 ) Clues;
***A philosopher ***A writer ***Holds a kinda different/weird-ish record ***One of his/her books' title contains a name of a Goddess in it. ***In the field that he/she got famous, a 'thing' was named after him/her.
What's the exact name of that 'thing' ? Additional clues;
***One of his/her book's title contains a name of a goddess ***In one of his/her works (books), it's been told that soldiers (we don't know which soldiers) who occupied the city (we don't know which city), have left the city after a game. ***The 'thing' we are looking for, derived from Italian words. ***You can see the Netherlands in/at/on that 'thing'. ***The person that mentioned above (philosopher, writer) has also been a federation president ***The goddess mentioned above has answered one of her lovers through a game created by another god.

I'm looking at Xenophon right now (as the philosopher, writer person).

Conshelf 1 & Continental Shelf Station - both wrong.

What does "after a game" mean?
|
|
|
It could be a game played by both sides that soldiers lost and left the city OR it could be a game played by the city that tricked soldiers at the end & forced them to retreat. No specific detail there.
I was trying to go from there but couldn't go too much for now.

Could this mean, "if you are at the thing, you can see the Netherlands"? In other words it could be an observation satellite that was named after a philosopher/writer who was also an astronomer?
Another option I thought of was a world map projection ( https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_map_projections ) or a world map from ancient times ( https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Early_world_maps ). No luck yet but maybe I will keep digging into this.

In other words it could be an observation satellite that was named after a philosopher/writer who was also an astronomer? It could mean that but I wouldn't limit the verb "see" to seeing only with your eyes. I think it refers to you can bump into Netherlands while searching. I mean the 'thing' is associated with Netherlands.
Though it says you can. Like you can see if you want to. I don't know.
