Can we please have a universal format of the holiday request date to
DD/MM/YYYY instead of YYYY/MM//DD

Why?

YMD is usually regarded as the best compromise to stop confusion between MDY and DMY users.

This here. DDMMYYYY would just confuse everyone who uses the other system for no reason.

Because it's obvious. 2nd July 2020 is rather easy to understand and the norm.

YYYY-MM-DD is actually the ISO standard representation of a date.

In all other places on the site, months are written out as text (in 3 letters) but that's a bad idea here because the holiday slider cannot be translated to different languages. So using the ISO format as it is now is the best option.

Thank you Jasper for the explanation. I now understand why we use ISO and it makes sense.

Edit: Keep the holiday format as it is :D :L
