Well I'm not going to try out myself, but there is definitely a "Delete your account" button and above that button it says:

Delete your account (applies only to EU citizens)
Use this section if you have the unexplainable urge to permanently remove, cancel or delete your account from GPRO. When sending in your request for account removal, be prepared to prove you are an EU citizen.

Under Article 12.3 of the GDPR, you have 30 days to provide information on the action your organization will decide to take on a legitimate erasure request. This timeframe can be extended up to 60 days depending on the complexity of the request

Playing GPRO is illegal in Ireland or what?

I mean if some employers found out that you play GPRO then your chances of getting job increases because this game improves your management skills, communication skill, social behavior etc.

But may be I'm wrong, who knows.

Life outside GPRO universe is really strange, don't know why people opt to live in such places :D

Yeah listen to these signs and stay ;)

I'm even planning to include 40 years of work as a Manager at GPRO inc under past work experience in my CV :D

But then I have to explain that a year in GPRO universe is a bit short than a year at other ordinary places ;)

That time could have been used to reply saying my request will be processed in the next 7 days or whatever.

From your part I presume

It may very well be that you've misunderstood the workings of GDPR

Quote ( Jackie Connolly @ July 21st 2020,17:21:09 )

I sent a PM. Instead of a reply I got blocked from using the PM system.

That could be the first step in actualizing your request, or a reaction to your actions.

Remember...

Under Article 12.3 of the GDPR, you have 30 days to provide information on the action your organization will decide to take on a legitimate erasure request. This timeframe can be extended up to 60 days depending on the complexity of the request

You should also know this:
Can we refuse to comply with a request for other reasons?

You can also refuse to comply with a request if it is:

manifestly unfounded; or
excessive.

What does manifestly unfounded mean?
The request is malicious in intent and is being used to harass an organisation with no real purposes other than to cause disruption

the request makes unsubstantiated accusations against you or specific employees;

the individual systematically sends different requests to you

So are your questionable ?

Email, PM and Forum campaign to cause disruption

Harassment and disruption and accusations, yes to all
What does excessive mean?

A request may be excessive if:

it repeats the substance of previous requests; or
it overlaps with other requests.

Email, PM and Forum campaign

Disclaimer: While it may have be true that on GPRO side things could be handled differently, you could give it some time too

I just want my profile deleted. I no longer wish to play the game and do not want any info about me left on the game platform

The lack of responses is incredibly disappointing. Like 10 seconds to acknowledge my request is not too much to ask

@Thijs Rieken (P17) in any case this kind of disruption campaign is uncalled for (and is actually potentially reason to deny the request)

@Jackie Connolly (A54) Point is that every "instance" have different kind of resources to handle requests, the big ones may have whole departments, while others may have just one person.

A smear campaign just after making the request is... ... I just can't find a diplomatic enough word for it..

Slight addition: IF the 30 day period was even close, then I'd be more understanding

Quote ( Jackie Connolly @ July 21st 2020,18:16:20 )

The lack of responses is incredibly disappointing.

Sure sure... but what if the single person responsible is on a long weekend on a cabin with no internetz...

That's one reason why there is a 30-day period (or in some cases 60 days). Patience

You sent offensive emails, which is why your mailbox got suspended. The delete button on the site tells you approximately when your request will be processed. Due to the foul language you use in your emails I will make sure it is not processed one day earlier... And if you keep sending a few requests per day, the date of the last request is taken into account when processing your issue.

but most importantly,
nobody asked.

Btw: What happens to those accounts that are deleted?
Will a black hole appear on the race screen of former races?

I never understood people requesting to delete their accounts, no one cares About Gpro in real life anyway and ist just unnessary work for the admins.

Yes, GDPR allows you to request this. However, the GDPR also allows GPRO some time to respond. You had an expectation or a fast response. Sure that would be great, but why did you have that expectation? Have they publicly posted they will respond ore quickly than required?

I hope they resolve this issue for you in the required time frame.

Big companies with many, many employees give themselves up to 30 days usually to action anything, so a very small company with very few employees yet many users are not allowed to take up to 30 days to action?

Did it ever occur to you that Vladimir is not just sitting there with his mailbox open waiting for a message or email to come in and pounce right away? People have lives outside of whatever ventures they have. I have my own magazine and sometimes it takes a while for me to get back to people because a) I get a LOT of emails, b) I have to prioritize by urgency and c) sometimes I just happen to be actually busy with something that is not related to, in my case, the magazine.

I still do not understand why there is such an urgency to get your information removed from a game website that I do not see as being offensive to anybody...
