The GPRO Oscars have become a recurring topic in GPRO for many years now and my suggestion is to make it more official to include:

- notifications for when the new nomination & voting threads are created
- official voting to be commenced on the Polls /gb/ViewPolls.asp section of the game in its own subsection
- GPRO Crew status for those willing to keep the thread running
- in categories such as the 'post of the season' awards, allow managers to 'flag' posts throughout a season and refer back to them once the nomination/voting commences
- prize pool for winning managers & teams (maybe few or just 1 - the hall of fame award, for example)

Do you think this would add some extra interest in the game & add activity to the forums?

Great idea Luke - love it :)

Winning Silly Games/hosts maybe get a special logo or something to show the community it's an "approved" game?

Kevin Parkinson having a 'baldest manager' badge and Mark Webster having a 'Album that sounds most like ringtone music' badge on their profiles. That needs to happen

I like this idea. There used to be a notification whenever anything was posted on the News and Interviews thread, but I'm assuming that anyone can start a thread on there now so that was disabled?

See I would love this but I heard apparently the admins dont want to notification it but this was before i started hosting them

Would certainly increase activity tenfold and make more people realise

This would make my job half easier but then I wonder if it requires either more work or would people even see it?

That might be asking for too much :p we would have to name the team recerewnamated

The amount of times you see a post and think that's Oscar's worthy then they come back around and nothing is said about it because you forgot is annoying for most!

Could work. Bit sceptical about this only because of the way some voting works with some nominations

Honestly i dont think 95% to maybe even 99% of people could host the Oscar's. Hosting a game is one thing, Oscar's actually take dedication and an awful lot of time. Literally ask anyone else who has hosted it in the past

With all respect, I don't think Oscars are the thing one should test/prove their hosting abilities with.

I hosted the Oscars only 1 time but as Kyle said, it took me an awful lot of time to come up with the BBCodes & charts, etc.

I only had F1FG in my brief hosting history and I was hesitant to step up for the Oscars because it's a show rather than a silly game. Silly games come and go but this is a tradition I'd like to see it going forward.

Given that the oscars are community awards, I imagine they should be hosted by someone the community wants.

And it seems to me that the majority of the community likes what Kyle is doing and appreciates the effort he puts in to hosting them every season.

True true, can't see why W&C would like to see their 20 underachieving oscars on their profile :D Or maybe people should see that other people think they are under achieving

What suggestions have i got, hmm. Maybe make it easier for people to suggest miscellaneous category's. Like its fun trying to think of some, but then my small brain runs out of power and can't think of anymore. At the moment they only way i can get suggestions is posting in the old thread

Going back to the polls things however maybe it would be better. At the moment there is 2 ways to vote which has made things easier for me by mean of preparing stuff but also harder because i still have to go through every PM and check to see if the vote is valid, having one place to do the votes that isn't a PM or a poll on sheets but have it tied to the manager would be ideal, like a website like for example Max's or even say the World Cup (i dont have the brain power for that)

I think certainly though Notification is the big point. Especially with now the short turnaround between end of season and start of season, there isn't a huge amount of time for people to actually put the votes in. You literally have Sunday to Friday, and while this could be enough time as surely everyone would log in, it still feels too short. Having that notification would lift it a lot!

I can't think of any more suggestions, some are like self ones, some are more what if ones which won't change either way if something happens or not!!
