Strange how Mercedes are having performance issues this term. If not for Hamilton they would be in big trouble.
Now its spit your dummy out time over rear wings.

Wow, that was a super crazy race! So in the standings a lot of changes except top 2 and Tsunoda on 14th position. Ferrari jumped to 3rd position and Alpha Tauri switched positions with Aston Martin. Gunther's rookie masterplan is working and Haas overtook Williams already. That is very shameful for Williams. https://imgur.com/a/uSrFJYB

So far Gasly is doing very well and it looks like both Perez and Vettel are bacc on form. Also it seems Mercedes struggle is real this time no sandbags apparently.
Alonso also did great, but I am not sure how much of it was his driving and how much luck. Danny Ric and Tsunoda in points, so the whole "we need 5 races to get familiar with the car" might be correct.

Norris is just that good.
I heard that Norris is just that freaking good
Sainz was keeping up with him, and is now keeping up with Leclerc...so yeah, seems like that :D
But also Norris said, that the car is difficult to learn, so we are not yet seeing the full potential of Norris in that car.
I think most of it's down to only having 3 days of testing before the first race
Looks like Daniel is not able to keep up with the new car.
Also it's very important to remember they have reduced the Friday sessions by half hour each, which means very little time if any during the session to adjust the car while still completing the programme's they need to.

Seems like either the car has a HUGE influence on driver ability, or Lando is a future world champion who will dominate the sport for many years :D
Yeah, I see 2018 didn't finish that season yet and 2017 was Max' misfortune, where he retired 7 times in the first 14 races, mostly due to car breakdowns.
In the end, Max beat Ricardo convincingly and Ricciardo felt like he needed to leave.

Is it just me or is Seb really regaining his old self, when he was dominating in his Red Bull years, after the disastrous seasons with Ferrari?

I can't help but noticing the deafening silence here in regards to the Baku GP ...
Nothing on Mercedes having yet another bad weekend essentially ... Nothing on NOR getting a 3 place grid penalty ... Nothing on BOT being absolutely nowhere ... again ... Nothing on both VER and PER over cutting HAM ... Nothing on the tires blowing out on STR and VER ... Nothing on HAM flicking the switch and again making a mistake ... Nothing on that few laps restart and all skill full driving put on display ... Nothing on VET finishing second ... Nothing on PER claiming his second win ever ... Nothing on Pirelli claiming debris being at fault of the blow-outs ...
Peculiar! There were plenty of discussion worthy things happening on track ... and nothing at all?

He can start right this year.
Yes, if he leaves this Car he would be a dumb fool for many years instead. He's like most of GPRO managers. He has been there driving car 1, 2 and 3 and Ricciardo is find hard to start with the car 3. "Before was much harder".

There is actually an active forum about random punctures. Don't even mention it.

I think everyone is still digesting all that. So much to take in and so much mixed emotions. :P

Actually, there is at least a last season stats where most drivers with more DNF's finished ahead of the team mates. I guess it is risk taking. Maybe he just needed to retire 3 or 4 times to be better.
Anyway, in the end, like 2018, Ricciardo beat Verstappen, Wins 1-0, podiums 1-0, points 37-18, the double plus 1. But yes, Verstappen is younger, was getting and is better. I just wouldn't want him in Mclaren because teams for me are more than 1 player.

Every one thinks they were dreaming... :D I don't believe in debris story... Seems to much similar on both cars.

Mate, you know that 2018 was still ongoing while they did those stats right? Max eventually won 2 races that season. Out-qualified, out-raced and out-scored Danny Ric.

OK, mate. I believe you're an Aussie. No worries. Let's leave the current season champion aside. Danny Ric, that's his name, right? His name it is. He beat Landy Nor. In a lousy... in a Renault. 2019.

Last time somebody asked why there were no comments here, they just said that everything was discussed on discord, and hence no use doing it here.
Maybe that is the reason that F1 discussions and comments have decreased
About Hamilton and Bottas, I read somewhere that Mercedes tried to compensate their car with a low downforce front wing, giving them a "DRS" on the straights sacrificing the back part.
That is why, apart form Leclerc doing a small mistake, Hamilton overtook him easlily on the straight, and why Perez complained about Hamilton being very fast in the straights. And if you saw the gaps it was the straights where Hamilton got closer, and lost all that gain on the windy part (Yet I do believe Perez did a great job holding him back)
If that was the change that made them competitive it could be that Hamilton was able to cope better with and understeering car (due to the low front downforce) better than Bottas.
I would also kind of assume that the "Magic Brakes" button could have been used by Hamilton during the race to gain heat to his front tyres that also could be colder due to the low front download.
I can easily assume that Hamilton could easily cope with this changes, due mostly to his talent and keeness, than Bottas could.

I liked that he finished ahead of the 2 Ferrari and Hamilton. For him. He can retire now. I mean I would still hire him but I'm not a rich dad.

Everyone on the podium was kicked out from previous team

Did George Russel get the Mercedes seat yet?
Seems like every year he's "rumoured" to get it, then they just extend Valterri. I wonder how much his management team has been propping him up all this time. 5 years of mediocrity in the top team. He should've been out a long time ago.
Hopefully George gets the seat and it doesn't go to Ocon or someone else who is average.

Well if Mercedes don't care for GR63, then I bet some other team will offer him something. Loyalty means a lot but has a limit. Seems like Mercedes has killed the aspirations of a couple of nice drivers in the process while keeping Valteri, I like the guy but other more talented had left the grid and chances were killed..
