What I used to miss back in the time when I was in a team was the option for a team race. You can see your friends & team laptimes. Why not render those times into a team race. would be cool to be in a race with your 9 teammates.
So just basically your team driving the cicuit (by just racestats of the current race) with only your teammates as opponents.
Sure it wouldnt be fully accurate (train-times while not in a train and such, but it would be a nice touch imo.
What do you guys think?
@all And yeah I know I'm not in a team right now:-)

Unnecessary.

Ahh,, like a Ghost race?
Thats a friggin great idea mate, since all the data is already there. :)
For me, it would be enough to be able to do this after the race, in "race replay".
Where you could deselect your group and add the "ghosts" of your teammates.
I like it. :)

All the statistics are there already in OBR.

Pretty easy to implement i would presume, since all the data is already there, along with the race replay viewer.
Or am I missing something (very possible)
It´s a win/win scenario imo... I´m sure Mikko can pick a hole in it somewhere, but at the end of the day, its just a visual race replay, just only including you teammates.

The option to get the team mates in the race as ghostcars? That would be nice.
Or as a "replay ghost race".

Perhaps, in theory since all the race data is there, it could include everyone..
Replace the racers in your group, with the PostleBot Ghost and se how many laps he whips you with etc.... etc...
Since this is just a visual replay of Ghosts, it cant affect the game mechanics in any way, hence other than work it takes to implement, how can this be negative for Gpro?
Especially if it brings added joy to the game. :)

I like this "team-wise ghost racing", but if at all possible, I would like to extend it with the option to select "ghost-race-participants" from ones friend list, with a max of 40 cars on track. To me it's not only a fun addition to re-watch the race just for the fun of it.
As team lead I re-watch several races to find out how a team member performed, what happened and could things be improved. We have many less experienced members, and this replay option could be helpful in efforts to improve individual game play.
The only thing "negative" I could envision to GPRO, possibly would be the extra strain posed on the servers. If that part could be tested/adjusted to accommodate such a feature, I would be very happy to enjoy this option as soon as possible ;)

That was what I though too, data is there, you just have to viualize it. Let's see what the critics think :-)

It could look a "little" awkward to me, being in clear track. But a ghost car or train in front would kind of fix it.

I just had a brilliant idea for a teams "race" and championship using the real race data.
Searched the forum history and discovered this thread.
