The f1 circus was heading towards a triple header, first in line was the French GP., quite the "fan favourite." The race proved to be quite the thriller for a dry race without any safety cars, all 20 cars finished, that doesn't happen very often. Mercedes caught out yet again in strategy, they knew that Max would pit on the lap after Bottas did and could have easily pit Hamilton on the same lap as Max. There was literally no need to keep him out.

Austria qualified for the 1938 World Cup but then had to withdraw because it stopped existing as a country.
Earlier in the decade, Austria trounced Germany several times. In fact, Austria made the World Cup semifinal in 1934, losing 1-0 against Italy in a game marred by biased refereeing and outright match-fixing led by Italy’s Benito Mussolini.
On the eve of their return, and despite having qualified, the Austrian squad was forced to pull out of the World Cup tournament. Hitler’s army had invaded Austria during the Anschluss, or annexation of Austria, just three months earlier. As a result, Jews were kicked off the Austrian soccer program and players were conscripted onto the German team.
