Welcome to the 2021 Tour de France Challenge
The 2021 Tour de France edition will start in two weeks, so let's bring back the Tour de France challenge !
This would be (I think) the 30th GPRO Cycling Grand Tour Game.
For this edition, I'll be changing the rules a bit and add the sprint/mountain/young classifications.
Joining phase
To join, simply post #join, and choose a team name (historical team, actual team or completely invented ones are fine :) )
Picks
I will be editing the Post #3 when we will get more informations on the starting lists.
Each rider will have a cost, and you will have to pick 9 riders for a total amount of 10 000 points
You will be allowed to only pick 1 rider for each team, no more.
You always have to have at least 1 rider classified as Young (born after 01/01/1996) in your team (more on this in the young section).
Stage win
For each stage, the stage winner will be defined by the ranking of the first rider of the team. In case of a tie, the winner will be the one getting the best ranking of the second rider, and etc ...
General classification
The general classification will be calculated with the added time of the first 3 riders of each stage. This will include the bonus time given during the stage and at the arrival (8,5,2 seconds on the bonus sprints and 10,6,4 seconds at the arrival).
The bonus sprints will only occur at the 2nd, 7th, 8th, 11th, 14th and 15th stage.
Sprint classification
The sprint classification will be calculated with the added points of the first 2 riders of each stage. This will include the points given during the stage and at the arrival.
For the intermediate sprints, the points awarded are : 20,17,15,13,11,10,9,8,7,6,5,4,3,2,1 to the Top 15 riders
For the flat stage arrivals, the points awarded are : 50,30,20,18,16,14,12,10,8,7,6,5,4,3,2 to the Top 15 riders
For the hilly stage arrivals, the points awarded are : 30,25,22,19,17,15,13,11,9,7,6,5,4,3,2 to the Top 15 riders
For the mountain stage and TT stage arrivals, the points awarded are : 20,17,15,13,11,10,9,8,7,6,5,4,3,2,1 to the Top 15 riders
Mountain classification
The mountain classification will be calculated with the added points of the first 2 riders of each stage.
For the 4th category climbs, the points awarded are : 1 to the Top 1 riders
For the 3th category climbs, the points awarded are : 2,1 to the Top 2 riders
For the 2th category climbs, the points awarded are : 5,3,2,1 to the Top 4 riders
For the 1th category climbs, the points awarded are : 10,8,6,4,2,1 to the Top 6 riders
For the super category climbs, the points awarded are : 20,15,12,10,8,6,4,2 to the Top 8 riders
The points will be doubled for the Tourmalet and the Col du Portet (40 pts for the 1st, ...).
Young classification
The young classification will be calculated with the time of the first young rider (under 25) of each stage. This will include the bonus time given during the stage and at the arrival (8,5,2 seconds on the bonus sprints and 10,6,4 seconds at the arrival).
The bonus sprints will only occur at the 2nd, 7th, 8th, 11th, 14th and 15th stage.
If a team has no young rider at the start of a stage, his 1st rider (by finishing position) will be temporarily replaced by the last young rider (by finishing position). This is only for the current stage.
If a team had 1 or more young riders at the start of a stage but none at the arrival, the last rider of that team (by finishing position) which has completed the stage will be temporarily replaced by the last young rider (by finishing position). This is only for the current stage.
Team classification
The team classification will be calculated with the added time of the first 8 riders of each stage. This will include the bonus time given during the stage and at the arrival (8,5,2 seconds on the bonus sprints and 10,6,4 seconds at the arrival).
The bonus sprints will only occur at the 2nd, 7th, 8th, 11th, 14th and 15th stage.
If less than 8 riders finish the stage, the time of the last finishing rider will be given to the involved team to complete their time.
Replacments
A maximum of 3 replacments can be done during the competiton.
1 more replacment will be allowed during each of the rest days. If a team choses not to do any replacment during a rest day, the replacment will be lost. The rest day period starts and the end of the stage before and ends at the beginning of the next stage.
In order to be valid, the replacment has to be done before the start of the stage !
Bonus
In order to spice up a bit this game and allow for a bit of strategy, a bonus system will be set in place.
Each team will have 7 bonus which can be placed on one rider on one specific stage.
A rider with a bonus point will see all his points (sprint and mountain) doubled.
If this rider has lost time over the leader, his time difference will be divided by 2. If he has won the stage, his time difference over everyone else will be doubled. The bonus time given to this rider will also be doubled.
Only 1 bonus can be placed on each stage, and a rider can only receive the bonus once during all the competition.
In order to be valid, the bonus has to be placed before the start of the stage !

Post #3 is now updated with the cost of each rider, and a table of the young players.
You may now send your lineup (by PM or in this post).
Deadline is next saturday, 12h CET
Reminder :
- You have to choose 9 riders for a max amount of 10 000 points
- You can only choose 1 rider max in each team
- You have to choose at least 1 young rider (see table in post #3)
Of course, it is still possible to join :)
