Welcome to the 2021 Tokyo Olympics Cycling challenge !
In this challenge, you will be asked to pick riders for the 6 cycling events below :
- Road - Men race
- Road - Women race
- ITT - Men race
- ITT - Women race
- Mountain biking Cross country - Men race
- Mountain biking Cross country - Women race
This challenge is part of the 2021 Ultimate Olympics Fan Challenge, but you can of course play to this one as a standalone.
Joining phase
To join, simply post #join in this thread.
Picks
I will be editing the post #2 with the full startlist of each event and the cost of the riders.
For each event, you will have to choose 3 riders, according to the restrictions below :
- The max amount of all your picks (e.g the 18 riders you have to choose) cannot exceed 18 000 points
- In 1 event, you cannot choose 2 riders from the same nationality
- In total, you cannot choose more than 3 riders from the same nationality
You can send your picks to me via PM or in this thread. I've sent my picks to Quentin Rieg via PM to avoid any trouble.
Deadlines
You don't have to send me all the riders for the 6 events in one time.
However, if your send your picks event by event, be careful about the restrictions given above.
The deadline for your picks is the start of each event, witch is :
- Sat 24 July - 4h CET : Men's road race
- Sun 25 July - 6h CET : Women's road race
- Mon 26 July - 8h CET : Men's cross-country
- Tue 27 July - 8h CET : Women's cross-country
- Wed 28 July - 4h30 CET : Men's time trial
- Wed 28 July - 7h CET : Women's time trial
Point system
For each event, points will be given the Top 10 finishers. Everyone who has picked the corresponding rider will get the points.
The points are :
- For the Road races (men and women) :
100 - 60 - 40 - 20 - 16 - 12 - 10 - 8 - 6 - 4
- For the ITT races (men and women) :
70 - 45 - 25 - 15 - 12 - 10 - 8 - 6 - 4 - 2
- For the Cross country races (men and women) :
50 - 30 - 20 - 13 - 10 - 8 - 6 - 4 - 2 - 1
General results
At the end of the 6 events, the player with the biggest amount of points wins. In case of a tie, the player with the biggest amount of gold medalists wins. If there's still a tie, the player with the biggest amount of silver medalists wins, ...

And to bother you more, in total you can't choose more than 3 riders form the same nationality.
You've already chosen Yates, Deignan, and Thomas (yes you Welsh and English people manage to tolerate each other once every 4 years) :D
So Shackley isn't a valid pick either :)
