Never know
when you look at it thoug, why would you suspend them when the real people to blame are sitting on their arses, talking about ways to blow people up, not people who are honest citizens who live in Russia?

Yes, sorry, but this is utter nonsense. I would not blame a single player for what Putin is doing.

In a purely selfish view, Dear Putin - I finally bought my dream car, a Maserati. Can you please stop making fuel prices go up because now I own it, I can only look at it.

Wasn't going to post here because I don't love posting much on serious threads, have been always around for the jokes and laughs mostly.

But I just wanted to express how disappointing it is that this is happening, and how it got to this point.

I'm not in the position to judge actions from any country, so I won't (apart from the obvious horrible decision to invade Ukraine, which nobody should be respecting in any circumstance)

Just expressing my condolences for the Ukranian people and hoping it doesn't turn too bad too soon...

There is now very little chance that Russia will stop the war, they are even preparing nuclear weapons and if they will use them it, the situation of chernobyl disaster will return. In addition, if the NATO interferes in all this (most likely yes) Russia will also bomb military bases whit American nuclear weapons scattered throughout Europe. This war is a catastrophe

I don't fully understand it. Surely Russia will face a serious economical and logistical backlash from this? Aside from the costs of war, European import will likely stop, all sport and entertainment will be boycotted, international travel will probably be halted. I can't find on many news sites what gains Russia intends to make from this to cover the costs?

Sorry to get all researchy. Despite the obvious disgusting cataclysm, it is quite an interesting topic I'm ignorant of and would like to know more about.

E: As a rather small example, Vettel has already mentioned he will not go to Sochi this year. I imagine many drivers will follow, and I highly doubt the FIA will run the event.

You've watched too many disaster movies. Russia does not intend to use nuclear weapons because it has no reason to do so and Putin knows that it would be too much for the world. Even China will not support him, after such a move.

Many forums are closing the discussing of politics but the reality is the politic is a real thing and sweeping something harmful thing under the rug is not an option and it just shows how Europe is impotent to defense itself. Easier to say it is not my problem and sorry I do not involve into it.

I believe the communication is still an option but it is not the civilian people option but the politicians. I support the communication and the peaceful solutions but if nothing helps then you need to consider some stuff.

Also the payment system here is russian because Xsolla is a russian company.

Sorry, but most Russian people aren`t interested to visit London, Berlin or Paris. Most of them like holidays in Krym or Egipt. I doubt that Egipt will stop selling places in their hotels for Russians.

Besides, the Russian people are not responsible for this war. Just his crazy leader.

Yes, Putin is to blame for starting the war, but surely it's not just one person responsible for stopping the war though? Why are Russian troops even listening for such nonsensical orders? Why are they not joining Ukraine side instead? Is it really better to kill brotherhood civilians?

Why are hundreds of thousands of Russians not going out to streets demanding Putin to stop the war and resign immediately?

We must all start from ourselves to somehow stop this nonsense. If we all stay quiet and simply turn our eyes down as long as it doesn't touch us directly, these crazy dictators will take more and more until consequences will be horrifying for most of humanity.

Many rich Russian oligarchs has villas or other real estate and bank accounts in western countries and this must be taken away from them until this Russian regime is stopped from inside.

My heart and mind is with Ukraine and possible opposing people of Putin. About protests, let's look a bit at what happened in Kazakhstan, Belarus, or with Navalny (you get the idea).
Nobody Almost nobody wants war even in Russia I think. Now I hope that could end quickly and with the least blood possible.

I just want to say this:
Joking about this topic is a no go. This is an absolute tragedy and should have never happened. We will all feel the consequences of today, no matter where we are. This is nothing to scoff at.

Dont blame the Russians, dont blame the Ukrainians. War has nothing to do with the "common folk". Its the people in charge who are to blame.

Once again, history repeats itself.

Because Putin is a Dictator. Nobody has the power to stop him. Even important, or powerful people will just be "disposed of" if theyd oppose him.

I wont go into much detail here, but troops have to follow orders. They dont have a choice. Its not that easy.

They just fought around Chernobyl because the exclusion zone around it is controlled by the Ukrainian army. It's just another (hugely unimportant) military target to take control of. I wouldn't read anything else into it.

In my opinion it is a publicity stunt. Putin might be sensing that the end is near for him, so he probably doesn't care about the long-term effects this war has. To me it seems like he just wants to see how much he can get away with.

Many of these soldiers probably have family and friends in Russia. Disobeying orders or deserting would almost certainly mean that they'll never see their families again and the only way they could remain in Russia would be in a prison cell.

So much anger and sadness with regards to the war that is happening right now.

This won't be the end of it and Russia will retake all of Ukraine in a matter of days but they won't stop there, Moldova is another country that I feel will be jts next target.

I'm especially angry at how the West and EU have allowed this to happen. We all know Ukraine has applied to join both EU and Nato yet due to the system and years it takes to join, the EU and Nato should've fast tracked or acted as if Ukraine was a member whilst applications were going through.

This will have huge consequences for the rest of the world and as others have rightly said, its not a laughing matter in any way.

Regarding people who think armed personnel have the power to stand up and stop a war or disobey orders, you simply have no idea of the consequences of doing so and forget they pledged allegiance to the commander, president, prime minister, chancellor or whatever title you want to mention.

This isn't a gorilla war and only a skirmish, this js real and diplomacy has failed, the EU has failed a potential member.

Of course no one wants another world war but Putin is very close to becoming the next horrible one testicle man we will not mention the name of.

God bless Ukraine and all its people, hopefully peace will be found sooner then later.
