Well, Morocco aren't European...and the Dutch are pretty strong, as are the English. But yeah much of the stronger European teams are in that part of the draw.

It is a strange World Cup, no nation has been playing great in all of their games so far and it is clear that "little nations" do no longer exist.

I would not be surprised if one or two more so called "big nations" will not survive this round. For me it is no sure thing that Spain, Portugal and even England will survive the second round.

I get what you are responding, but I never implied Morocco was European, or that Netherlands and Croatia were mid tier,
but certainly Spain, France and Portugal have high accolades.. and they are always in contention.. and they are on that side.
I guess my comment could be understood in other ways than intended..

As a portuguese i believe its for the best to bench him. Team has proven to play better without him

2 different point of views...
1) The right thing is to bench him which is (probably) good for the team. At leat that's what I think.
2) no1 means that the team will not be able to concentrate on what they have to do which is definitely not good

Why are you lying to yourself?

You're not portuguese, come on. You'll only care about Portugal once they start wearing blue shirts, field an 11 with only Porto players and bring a domestic dragon with them :P

A final with Argentina means we beat Brazil.. I would love it, but I feel Argentina is playing in the midfield where 0 chance to score.. Brazil is playing in the opponent's square..
I hope we find the light..

Ronaldo is a great player, but that game where he was benched the team was very dangerous.. so it makes sense if the replacement gets the chance, at least give him half time and put Cristiano in the second half..

I like how Spain may well end up playing against the 3 countries that arguably neighbour them most closely (vs Morocco in R16, probs vs Portugal in QF and probs vs France in SF!) :)

Instead it's Morocco beating it's neighbours and having a chance to go against former colonizers France in the semis. Pretty epic story.
