You got something wrong here. Z "lost" the title because he got a start crash with "maintain his position" and would have most likely won it by using "avoid trouble" ;)

Sorry, I got that wrong, I have never had trouble with anything other than Force way to front, but I guess its a combination of other risks used as well. Its hard to take, but it is life, Vettel ALMOST had this years championship taken from him from a 1st lap incident (I still dnt know how his car survived, if it was a McLaren it would hace busted for sure!!) And Massa had his chance at a championship taken from him when Hamilton passed a slow moving Toyota at Interlagos in the last race, this season alone there were many innocent victims involved in accidents from others mistakes. Accidents are part of motorsport, and to be honest the are probably the reason I were so interested in watching motorsport as a kid!!

If this game does not simulate a race twice a week then what does it do Janne??

it does simulate a race but that doesn't make it a simulator in this meaning

a simulator would attempt to simulate the events of real world, which in that suggestion was adding accidents midway through race. GPRO however is not attempting to simulate all the events of real world because it is first and foremost a management game, which is why - in my view - there would be little reason to add anymore out-of-control-of-manager factors into the game

hope that cleared my point up.

Being a supporter for 13 seasons or there abouts, I've seen a lot of race incidents and yup I've been taken out by someone else who had a random.

So their is a chance it can happen currently.

That's completely wrong. You can not be taken out by someone else during the race.

The only chance is that you get taken out by someone else at the race start and that's only since a few season now.
But even that won't happen with "avoid trouble" and 0 OT and DF risks. At least I've never heard nor seen someone getting a start crash nor hit by someone else at the start with such settings.

Well there is no way to really check that even if you unlock previous replays it doesn't show the race commentry.

all you have the limited data and information in past race data, can see a incident which did occur at the start and cause me to drop out so your statement may have some weight.

I've had 74 race incidents or randoms in 238 GP's (not good i know but thats racing)

And I'd guess that quite a few of those 74 "race incidents or randoms" how you call it, have been part break downs, because you started with too high wear on them ;)

It's been more than a few seasons now :)

And it was discussed elsewhere and people have claimed they have been involved in start incidents with avoid, but can't remember if other risks were mentioned.

Well, I've seen people raging about apparent randoms, although they did start the race with 90%+ wear on the brakes at a high wear track. Even people who had done 200+ races and have been up to Master...

Start accident for me is usually cause by someone else over-risking it, and staying in the race, while I get a DNF... Just my luck! X)

Actually, I wasn't pushing at all. Last accident I had, 4 races ago, I went with 0CT risk, but my cup opponent, who was also involved in the crash, pushed a bit too much. :D

They were the same I used for 3 straight seasons. :D When going with 0CT, you can risk more on the start, but I kept my OT and DF risks on the usual value. But, the problem is, when someone else risks too much on the start, followed by a high CT, which also happened to me in my first seasons, he tends to end his race and probably someone else's too. :D

I had the idea this only happens if you are using df risks and someone else has ot risks. Or the other way around. If you are not defending or using high start risks, the pass wouldnt cause an incident.
My theory could be completely wrong though lol

Kirsty, it is a combination of everything, but mostly the starting risks in relation to CT risks, IMO.

Right, but you probably took rather high starting risks too. So there is no one to blame but yourself :P Of course it doesn't happen often with 0 CT, but it can happen and why you have been using higher starting risks AND OT and DF risks at all in a race where you haven't been pushing is beyond me.
What's the benefits of such an approach at the end of the race? Is it worth taking the risk of a start accident even if this doesn't happen often and another manager has to be involved in it?

That's the questions you need to answer yourself first ;)

I have long used OT if possible without a start crash. But that's usually been with what I consider to be CT risk. Maybe I have been lucky.

I have also wondered if there's any modification to the game logic if you are on pole, and using OT if possible or force.

Yes

Way to kick a man when he is down. You should be ashamed of yourself.

Dan, bad luck in this game seems to be somewhat like London buses; you don't see any for ages, then loads come at the same time, and add to that that you'll get screwed financially to boot.

That's not how probabilities work :P Chances for another random or 1-2 seasons without any are just as low / high as they were before ;)

So the probability of getting a random in any race is the same, and completely independent from external events. So, the probability of getting a random is 1/x, so getting a random 2 races running is 1/(x^2). That's how I see it.

Andrew, the point is that there is no point in trying to predict when you might get a random, or even whether you get successive ones, as they are totally independent of each other.
