Hi,
I am a newbe here and I cannot wait to start the next season. I have some experience with a dutch online racing game (F1 race manager) where I am quite successfull, but here are some new things for me. Is there a FAQ or Tips&Tricks, or do we have to find everything out ourselves? I read the Game Rules and browsed through the forum, but I still have some questions left.

Yes there is, but it is currently still sitting on my HArd Disc, because I am lazy and haven't finished it yet.

If you post your questions here, I may or may not answer them, but it will help me add to the FAQ :-)

OK, my most important question at the moment is: should I spend all my money now on buying a good driver, upgrading facilities and my car, or do I need to spread my spendings over the season. I can estimate my income from the races - assuming I will be in the top 5 :-), but what can I expect from the sponsors. Should I start negotiations with a number of sponsors, or one at a time, and how long will this take - and what can I expect from them?

No because the season is over, and no staff decisions will occur until after the next season is ready.

This is part of the tactics of the game, you need to find that out for yourself to see what strategy you prefer :-)

Again this is up to your strategy, you need to find out what works for you :)

Money ;-)

Basically the answer you're looking for is, we like you to find things out be experimentation. Finding out how to play the game is part of the fun, devisng your overall strategy is as important here as your race startegy. No one will be a master of the game without a couple of season trying things out for themselves :-)

Well, these are helpfull tips! ;-)

So it will be a matter of experimenting. But I believe next season is still a beta test, and everything will be reset afterwards?

SJaak
Most important is that you link yourself with a few people in the game and become part of the community.
That's the easiest and quickest way to lear the game.

Do not believe completly the man with his yellow hat!
Is prefered answer is " find that out for yourself "

On your own it will take you ages before you become a master at this game. Which is all but a solo game. You need a team with a mix of experienced and newbie managers.
So that the experiencd managers learn you the basic and the newbies trry out impossible tactics which some time pays off.

As an example "The Whiting Start! ©" which is starting with the wrong tyre at the start (rain tyre on the dry) of a race and then win the race and become famous for it pretnding that it was on purpose ;))
While after 2 laps it started raining and it spared a pit stop to the yellow hat man.
But you need also a great publicity campaing to make your flaw becominng a trade markt.

Enjoy the game

Sjaak: money are not reset between beta seasons (or I'm not aware of it), and it's very easy to get into debt with weared out car and than you pretty much in "spiral of death" ... weared car means you will crash (no matter what risks you are driving, even 0/0/0), crash measn you will get just half of bonus for last place, last place means it will take forever to negotiate sponsors, and low money will mean you will be unable to repair the car to finish next race.

Maybe in Rookie group there will be money reset (I didn't notice that in rules), but as there are no Rookie groups yet, experimenting too much can mean you will be "out of game" for 5-6 races easily.

OTOH if you do check race incomes and car update, you will find out the cash flow during season is huge, if you finish your races... So I would answer "no" to this question, just be careful about finishing races, that's the most important thing if you want to keep experimenting:

Thank you for the tips so far. Actually, I am forum moderator for a Dutch Online Racing game, and my favorite answer is also: "find it out yourself"

So I hope I will learn fast, and meet you guys soon in the higher levels!

Not to mention that the guidelines for using the forum is to NOT start a new thread, when an old thread already exists. The guy is just following the rules that have been set up.

Perhaps he could have found something newer, but at least he is following the rules and doing what the devs intended.

Or maybe there's some lack of understanding for some people.

Right and proper to (for example) ask questions using an existing thread on topic, no reason to start a new thread.

But to reply to a comment which is years old, that's kind'a amusing

Why driver with concentration over 200 make more mistake than driver under 100 with same risks?
I just cant take more of this absence of logic.

Based on my experience, biggest effect on mistakes is whether you are blocked or not. So if you drive alone in front in Rookie with this 100 conc driver, you won't make much mistakes, while if you drive in traffic in Ama, you will make mistakes regardless of driver skills.

you should look for a mentor, probably the answers you’ll get here won’t be enough to open a logically insight on this matter which is related to a pretty long list of factors that you are missing , based on my experience

What does it seem more logic to you : if we have a track with a hard overtaking rate ( see profile page at “ track performance statistics” for more accurate info , a track characteristic alone might not be helpful enough) , does it seem more logic to you to push your driver more into overtaking risks so he gets a better chance to overtake , if caught in traffic, or do you think it’s more logic to prevent him on forcing his way through, as a hard overtake rate would possibly force him into mistakes more often ??

Now , considering how much you’re pushing your driver on such a race , what would your driver answer to the question above , based on his own experience;) ?? Do you think he might be pointing his finger at you , for some lack of logic on your part , too ?

mine is very old, and have lots of the mentioned stat, and still makes two mistakes every race, with low risks (except for one) and being seconds away from the nearest drivers.. I guess it's kind of random..
