Very wide studded tires. Include heating element for the front wing in case of icing.

If there was ice on the track, what compound would you use?
Spiky, like in those snow shows by Red Bull and Renault :D

Very wide studded tires.

Knowing how studs tyres can ruin roads, I'd hate to seen the track condition at the end of a race.

And knowing that studs are reputated to be proned to dislodging with wear, I'd hate to be around with all these studs flying around like bullets!

so at these temperatures, will there be snowfall??

I wonder what kind of snow it is as temp isn't below 0 ;)

then we will need chains on the tyres

I would rather use spikes. Chains are used in tractors :P

No just about 37 minutes into the race. It's based on the RACE TIME of the leader in Elite.

Its not the first time that the temperature has been outside the forecast at the start of a 30-minute segment, which initself should tell you that the forecasted temperature only has to hit that range at some point during the segment, and that it won't then go outside once it has come inside it.

GPRO's wheather forecast wasn't built to be realistic.

You can have 3° in Abu Dhabi and then 50° in Sweden.

There's no need to fix anything. The tooltip clearly says:

As with all weather forecasts the GPRO weather forecast is not 100% reliable. The GPRO meteorological services cannot be held responsible for any direct or indirect damage caused by the use of the GPRO weather forecast.

These guys just get it wrong sometimes - which is quite normal by the way ;-)

I was always wondering why is it " Weather forecast", not "Track condition forecast"?

It doesn't. Firstly Hendrik has a point in post 58, but in any case, the actual race weather was well within the forecast range.

In the second section of the forecast (30-60 min) which estimates the 29-34C you refer to as being inaccurate, the race temperature actually hit the 29 degrees minimum projection at a 'global' race time of 39:49.149 (see race replay, click to Elite race and then click 'gaps' for race leader time). As long as the temperature hits at least 29 degrees by minute 59 of the elite race then there was/is nothing wrong or inaccurate with the weather forecast. And so it proves with checking. It could have actually stayed under 29 degrees for a further 20 minutes of the race :)
