actually, this would not give you a clear indication of anything. there is a lot of thumbs up/down given just based on the name of the manager that posted the post, therefore this statistic would be biased and irrelevant imo
If it was a feature, it could and could not be good. Depends how it's implemented.
In any case, each post you make gives anyone one more reason to love or hate you. If it's split down the middle and you're the most active forum participant in the game, then the statistic will be biased and irrelevant as you've stated.
However, for those who are very active and genuinely good or bad, it can become completely relevant and useful. There are plenty in the game who fit either good or bad when it comes to reputations. Do you think Keri would rate near the top of the thumbs up list, and do you think Geir would rate near the top of the thumbs down list, f.e?

Jun Ho has a lot of thumbs up and down thanks to interviews & some others too + admins, who tell season calendar + guys who suggest a new idea...

to be honest here, I don't really care much about this. Thumbs up/down is interesting feature giving people power to show like/dislike with person/post, that's all. there can't be any reliable or trustworhy statistic from it, therefore why to waste your time on this when you can implement other more valuable features

Isn't this management game? I thought the success here is measured with achieved results and not with the number of thumbs ups/downs.

I agree.
Which is why I gave you a thumbs up ;)

As well as having a lot of managers honing their craft on the track, there are several varieties of personalities with thousands of people posting on the forums each day. The forums/community are just as important as the success on track imo.
The fact in point is this; if a noob asked the defending Elite champion and the manager with the most thumbs up on the forums, who is he/she more likely to expect a quick, passionate answer from?

I've got to agree with Jan, Erik, Cale and Mairo here*. I don't think it would be a worthwhile feature, as well as perhaps being difficult to implement due to the fact it can change so rapidly (although I'm no programmer so I don't know how difficult it would be).
Also, when somebody opens a suggestion topic, they tend to get a lot of thumbs up or down for those either agreeing or disagreeing with what is suggested. This can lead to someone you might class as not a person "you would approach or enjoy reading" getting a lot of thumbs up for one good idea, or vice versa, someone you would class as "good" getting a lot of thumbs down just for one suggestion that isn't liked by the community.
The feature is OK for rating individual posts, but I think any total statistic would not be of any real worth, and would only lead to the less mature players trying to get up the list by making deals to like each other's posts and such like.
*EDIT - And Andrej and Max :)

Probably not that difficult...just a matter of coming up with the right SQL query.
But I don't see the point...does anyone pay attention to thumbs up/down? really?

heh, I guess that was pretty predictable :D

You reckon that a total of 3 admins would even bother to read the forums?

You've made some good points, Kevin. Didn't expect as big a reaction as this, but it definitely silences the want to see it be implemented. Imagine the managers that open interviews too... :)
If opened threads were excluded, it may become somewhat realistic.

Maybe, maybe... if it only was thumbs up stat, say in newbie forum section. Thumbs down would be abused anyway.

I would be more interested if it was a new statistic about how many wins, poles, fastest laps, podium, points, hattricks, start crashes, abandons and positions gained or lost in all gpro tracks for both elite races and all races.
Now that would mean work for 'en admins and a minute amusement for the players :|

I'm kind of surprised by that, I don't see too many of either thumb on my posts.
btw 2nd is thumbs up right? :P

It might be something like how many thumbs ups/downs were given by these managers.

Ooh, this is more likely, I knew Marcelo was just giving naughty kids thumbs down instead of moderating properly :P

I've given more than 570 thumbs down, I've probably given about 5 thumbs up too (not to myself).

Sorry to go off-topic but I think all the stats should show your position like the OBR stat does
