Nah, I was just teasing a bit.
Race wins, the titel & Cup are nice, but not the main goal. Promote to amateur under the best circumstances is.

Gl all. No points for me tonight. Engine wear is crazy this race. So I will "smoke" this one out.

What a great race for the start of season 71. I think that Basile Osman could of (should of) won that race, but because of a technical problem, (was this random), he had to make an extra pit stop.
Well done.

Hi Sean, well done for the win ! Yes it was random, but I missed the last 2 races of season 70, so I guess it was maybe a little tap on the head from the game, or maybe too much risks... At least it could be repaired.
We will see next race what happens !

What an awesome drive from Philip. Well done on your win. Another 2nd place for Joseph too. Great job. A lot of different strategies being done with today's race and I think a few drivers running on risk levels. A great race all round.

Hi all hope things are well,
Enjoying this season so far after dabbling 3 or so years back but stopping because was a little overwhelmed by it all at the time but have a couple questions...
Are any of you guys in the mentor program thingie? Ie: buddied up with a big brother for a few strategy and setup pointers im guessing?? Im curious as to how hands on the bigs boys are and how forthcoming they are with thier tricks of the trade... data etc...
And also how are you guys so freaking faaaast!!? Haha..
Anyway, happy racing and ill try my best to not be a rolling chicane for you as im getting blue flags waved at me :(
Hopefully we can get a but of chatter going in our group as the season rolls on.
Cheers!

Hi Trip
I use to run the mentor program. There are mentors, both good and bad. Trust me. As a mentor you are limited on how much info you should divulge. It is part of the fun of the game. To learn yourself from mistakes.
As far as speed goes. In Rookie it is mostly about the driver. Use a season to learn & train up a good young driver then go promo to Amateur.
You may be choosing wrong strategy as well. Many Rookies make the huge mistake of always running XS. So watch what others do in your group & learn from it.
BTW if the mentor you get tells you, that you only need a low talent driver in Rookie. Tell them to "Piss Off " from me. That is absolute BS.
Good luck Cheers

Also taking the championship lead.

Hi Trip, welcome aboard R139. Hello Andrew.
I'm not part of any mentor program, but was co-opted directly by a group. So got all the help needed. For the moment I'm learning, giving little time to the game. I may prepare for Amateur if the season continues like this... But I don't think I have the best driver ;)
Thanks Sean, with a simple setup the tire choice did the job this time. But what happened to you ?
About strategy, in the Race 2 I used soft with 3 stops, a mistake. This time in Anderstop I used medium in 2 stops, it was perfect... for the rookie level in 139 of course. Watching all rookie results, I was 245th trailing by 1'20" !!!

Well done Rasmas on the race win. A lot of good on track battles taking place. A lot of drivers picking up points for the past 4 races.

Please do not listen to this bad advice about talent.

Congratulations Joseph on a great win, which now puts you in the lead of the championship.
Thanks Basile for a tough fight in the last 3rd of the race. You forced my driver to make an error, but luckily he had another 'boast' to use up in the last few laps, so he managed to get in front of you again. Very close at the end however. Just 1/2 a second between us.
Also another pole position by Saverio. That makes it 3 so far in 5 races. It seems that you like to stay in Rookie all the time.

Joseph is a solid leader of this Rookie bag ;)
I like these battles, as a few strategy decisions can change everything...

Well done Joseph on another win. Yes clearly you are the man to beat. Another solid finish for you Basile.

Joseph really seems to be off the pace for this race. Maybe a 1 stopper?

Well done Basile! Congratulations on another race win. And a close race too. You also lead the championship! Keep going and the season will be yours.

Well done Roberto! Congratulations on your first race win! What a close battle with Basile. Awesome race guys!!

I hate punctures ^^ At least the challenge is now more interesting. Good luck all. (and please get lot of punctures too)

I have no fingernails left.... What an awesome race!!! So close at the end! Just brilliant! Well done again Basile. Another fine performance. A very close battle for the championship too. (I wish this year's F1 season was more like this.)

Well, I decided not to throw my money through the window, to keep a safe margin for next season in Amateur. I just started to upgrade toward level 3 and 4 this morning. Congratulations to Bence for his win, his strategy was perfect, it's nice to see allways a tight group competing for each race.
I will try to win the last 2 races, good luck everyone.

This is it, the final battle for the very important title of Rookie 139 season 71 ;) Good luck everyone

A frustrated Chris Courage was understandably caught up on the thoughts of missed a opportunity in his debut at the German grand prix at the Nurburgring when interviewed by Sky after the race.
"Of course I'm feeling the frustration of how things went today, I was pushing all race and keeping my focus. I knew our strategy was pretty tight and that we were looking at P7 or P8 as long things ran to plan. I kept calm and didn't want to count those chickens until they hatched, but for sure, the prospect of points on my debut was exciting. I won't lie it will probably take a few days to forget it, but that's what I need to do; forget it and move on to Hungary knowing we have the tools to be knocking on the door of points."
It seemed almost without question that a points finish was on the cards for the 23 year old, having started from a solid grid position and carrying a larger fuel load for a scheduled two stop strategy. Rain seven laps from the end scuppered what was otherwise a fantastic performance from both driver and team, but Courage showed great maturity in his positivity.
"I need to sit down and study the post race analsis properly with the guys on the (pit) wall, but no, it wasn't simply the rain that blew it. Not directly. Admittedly before the race we had decided that we wouldn't base our strategy around an assumption of rain, but it sounds like the strategists made a slight mistake in failing to cover all the bases. It's something I need to get a better understanding of myself as this is all valuable experience for me. There's no blame to throw around here, we win and lose as a team and I made my own error out there too, on the dry tyres when the rain started. All in all I'm overjoyed to have been in this great position on my debut. If you'd told me a month ago when I was still looking to secure a drive for the season, that I'd be here talking to you now, ruing missing out on a points by a very small margin, I'd have told you you were mental. Here we are, onwards and upwards!"
His positivity despite the frustrating outcome were echoed by GJT Racing Team Principal Gary Taylor whilst shedding more light on the fatal strategy flaw to reporters.
"First of all, I want to congratulate Chris on a great show today, he handled the unexpected pressure of chasing points fantastically and has definitely validated our decision to put our faith in him for the future. Even far more experienced pilots are not immune to the small error he made before the final pitstop. As a team, we're rebuilding and he's a part of that project. Whilst we move through the rebuilding phase, errors from both team and driver are inevitable, today's mistake was small but ended up proving costly.
When the weather conditions aren't clear cut, I encourage the strategist to commit to their initial gut feeling and as such we took the deicision to plan for a fully dry race and go with the extra fuel for the two stopper. Being on the option tyre with a lighter fuel load might have been the better shout, with hindisght. However, it wasn't that decision that cost us the points, our error was in failing to ensure that if we WERE forced to come in for wets, that the fuel rig was set up for a "spalsh and dash" to the finish. Instead it was calibrated as it was for the first stints, and we ended up putting fuel for 21 laps in for the remaining 7. If we'd have spotted that mistake we would have probably closed the gap to the two cars ahead. But as is often said in this sport, "catching them is one thing, passing is another". So we'll never know."
Fortunately the season is just getting started, and there will no doubt be plenty of opportunties for the team to make ammends for their German GP woes. All of the teams preparations for the Hungarian Grand Prix are already underway.
