Is it better to buy a driver with more concentration or one with more talent? Better more expertise or experience?
|
|
|
telling you that would ruin all the fun :P

See if you can find drivers with a good track record and maybe there will be some patterns, but the best thing to do is try out a driver or two with different skills and see what seems to work for you.

Just to piss everybody off: concentration :) (yeah, I hate those who answer FOBY with the intensity of 1000 white-hot suns...)

There is no right answer though because it depends on situation and aims.

Almost as bad as the ones who give the wrong information, it really depends what you are trying to do, but to tell someone con is better than talent is misleading to say the least.

but to tell someone con is better than talent is misleading to say the least. Especially since one is trainable and the other isn't.

XD do not fight, I have a pilot who has a lot of concentration, enough charisma and enough experience and some technical knowledge but has no resistance or aggression, with the pilot ratings go well, but in the race gets a 19 position, what kind of plot recomendais me for a 10 or maybe 7 position?

Bah you don't need any concentration or talent. Just a big fat driver. 100 kg at least. Adds more downforce, good for high speed corners.
(look for an american driver) xD

Alex, the driver can only do so much. You are his manager and it is up to you to develop his car, set the car up and decide his race strategy.
The right tyre and fuel strategy can make an average driver beat better ones. It is your first race and we are in the middle of the season. Other managers will have upgraded their cars over the last few races. I would say to finish 19th out of 26 with a level one car in your first race is normal and actually not that bad.

Especially one that just vacationed in Canada.
Alex, just know that talent cannot be increased, nor decreased. And that matters eventually.

Many thanks Lee, I also have motivation to keep going and not stop trying

Look for drivers history that should help!

Don't know... I have never bought a driver. I just hire them on a season to season basis...
I'd say ask this question to someone with experience, ie Laila. She apparently tried to buy Vicente's driver :)

I hate those who answer FOBY with the intensity of 1000 white-hot suns You shouldn't; FOBY is what makes the game fun. Figuring stuff out from cryptic clues and your own research is very rewarding - certainly that's what I've found. If all the information was readily available, then it would be written in the instructions (AKA game rules), and reading instructions is boring as shit.

talent cannot be increased, nor decreased. And that matters eventually. Arguable. For the majority of noobs, this will never matter. And if it does, then they will already be well-schooled enough to know what to do about it.
As for the original question; best practice is targeted trial and error, as already suggested. Use a few different drivers and see what skills seem to matter. Search the forums for driver skills discussions and you will find some pretty good clues. Look at past rookie promotors and the drivers they used. You might start to see a pattern.

from the wiki: A good start is to try and find out what makes a good driver. One method is to search through some unemployed drivers and take a note of their statistics (in particular their career history). In the lower leagues there are some definite trends that you’ll notice between drivers that score a lot of points and those who don’t.
another method might be to bluntly ask in the forum for FOBY material ;)
