Nearly every person in higher groups use highest qualifying risks all the time, and they don't risk much, because even pushing limit it's impossible that your driver will crash the car or similar.
So I thought, maybe qualifying results should influence motivation? F.e., if the driver, using highest risks does a mistake in his lap (the lap is slower than his best practise lap, or doesn't improve much) - he should lose some motivation. And then, if the lap is very good, he should gain some. Also, the sum of motivation you lose if doing bad qualifying (driver does mistake) should be lot higher, than you get when the qually goes right. IMO that'd add bit more realistic side, and would make managers think a bit choosing risks in the qually, not just picking highest ones.
- Watching f1 stream, so can't be bothered to read what I wrote again, sorry if it sounds awkward :} -
- Oh and I know motivation has influence on motivation already, but I would like it to change not because of place you qualified, but because the qually lap time compared to how good the driver was at practise -

I think this is good. Because obviously if they get a really good qualifying time they would be more motivated for the race, so yes :P.
EDIT: Basically me and Lee said the same... :D

Lmao.
Obviously I meant 'qualifying has influence on motivation [..]'.
Anyways, off I go to watch the race :)
Oh and I thought about 'what if at best practise lap you use one setup, at qualifying other?'
Haven't though of answer yet, but I believe administrators could think of something.

Flawed for the exact reason you stated in your last post.
Also, the motivation loss would have to be seriously severe in order for it to become a strategic choice.
Will driver lose motivation if they go slower ising push a little / lot?
If so, then this simply means everyone will either choose full risk or zero risk in a likelihood...

Have you looked at your race results??
2 wins.. Surely your driver would be highly motivated after that.

What about the effect of fuel loads? Carrying a lot of fuel could result in a loss of motivation due to a slower Qual. That would limit the strategic options.

You're in rookie. Your driver gets motivated simply from sitting in the car...

Peter, although results "didn't come your way" in race 1, but still coming 4th in race 1 is respectable with stock cars. Your driver was motivated in coming 4th, as if your driver could do more, and has.

Because motivation affects the quality of your driver and so should affect his Overall ability
