Everybody knows that by clicking 'Group forum' in the front page links you to your groups thread.
I've been thinking about it now for a while, why there isn't 'Nation/country forum' button in the front page which would link you to your country's thread?
Small, simpe and useful :) I thought theres still managers who dont know they can speak their own language in 'Foreign language forum'. I think that button would make those threads more active.
What do you think about it? :)

Lately? The last poll was more than 2 years ago! :)
I thumbed the idea up. As Petrus said, small, simple and useful. I am also thinking that it may increase activity on the thread :)

Really good idea Petrus, i see sometimes managers are aware there is a national forum just later on, as well it could avoid some of the numerous foreign topic, being created by new players.
+1
One of the best and simple idea i've heard in quite long time :)

C'mon, F1 new season started just, can we have at least that official poll ? :D And there are & have been other big sport things too, yes this game is most related with F1, but it's a poll, it don't have to be related with F1, but everyone can see GPRO opinion.

Probably the best suggestion on this site for some time. I reckon that it would definitely aid new player retention.

It would of course be redundant for anyone who's a native English speaker.

2 months between the second and third posts in the English language national forum. People are just too busy to communicate with each other.

It would be nice to have the appropriate foreign language forum easily available, but this might be a bit tricky to implement. Nationality and language is not the same thing, so you would basically need players to first identify what their native language is in order for this to work.

Some kind of link to the language selection using the flags at the top...?

What about the managers who use the English version (or any other language) for practice and it is not in fact their language of choice in the foreign language forum?
Edit: Or were you suggesting that as an extra option?

Well true, I use English 90% of times. If it goes on Estonia, I mostly don't see it (Cuz I know where everything is, no need to read) and chance it back if I find out later :D

I meant as a default selection.
Maybe there should be a drop-down list in Account Settings.

What about having a option in the account settings to change the flag next to your name to link to your nations forum

That button would automatically link you to the thread by using the nation flag if there would be thread for that countrys language.
And maybe there should be something in Account Settings where you could change language to what you speak :)

How about in the main page /gb/gpro.asp
under Manager information you would have:
Manager picture Manager Name (flag) (country)
The flag would act as a link to corresponding foreign language forum the country would act as it does now, redirecting to nations stats
This ofc. presuming the change is needed
The question really is if the admins want to encourage higher usage of the foreign language forums
Edit: Just remembered, this is different depending if one is using the old or new design. In old the country is in text format, and in new there's a flag.
and the suggestion would put both formats there, text and flag

That's a good idea too, Mikko. But I don't know would the people understand by clicking country you would jump to forum.
Also, I don't see this as admins want or not to encourage, I see this as helping the just-joined guys/girls as giving them information you can speak your own language etc. Also, it would be much easier also for those who use their national thread to just click on the home page and jump to the thread.
Don't really know how much this would improve posting on the threads :D
btw, was that just a littlw bump? almost forgot this thread.

So in UK, anyone with an English,Welsh,Scottish,Irish flag will automatically be directed to the English speaking forum as with all the other English speaking countries out there.
|
|
|
The only one problem is that what to do with those nations which speak the same language.
Maybe drop-down language button would do it next to Nation forum button (: So you should have something like:
Nation forum: [-choose your forum/language/somethin-]

Or perhaps you could select it within your account preferences. :)
