There seems to be a general smugness surrounding those who think the answer must lie in BODMAS that they know the answer and that anyone who thinks differently is wrong. This is the bit that annoys me; the assumption that what you learnt in year 8 maths must always apply. That assumption is wrong.
Obviously, BODMAS gives 15, left to right gives 0. In the real world there are examples where both systems are used, and accordingly the full answer is that the question is ambiguous.
All there is to it.
BODMAS is the COMMON convention across the world. This is a math problem, and not a programming problem. If you asked a "smalltalk" programmer to program this equation, they would rewrite it to make it yield the "correct" answer by common convention. Programmers generally have a very high understanding/education in maths. If you asked any programmer what the answer to this question is without pointing out that it is written in "smalltalk" then the answer you would get unanimously is 15.
I dont know anywhere in the world where BODMAS is not taught in mathematics. Maybe you can show me that there is...

Well, wouldn't many of the results of physics theories be defied if BODMAS hadn't been used? Wow, I'm glad those great people did it 'properly', unlike ~300 dazed people that took part in the voting!

okay I will waste my time .
when in equation there is both addition/subtraction and multiplication/division, you FIRSTLY DO MULTIPLICATION/DIVISION, so in this case
5 + 5 + 5 - 5 + 5 + 5 - 5 + 5 x 0 = 5 + 5 + 5 - 5 + 5 + 5 - 5 + 0 =>
because
5 x 0 is 0
then when you have no multiplication/division just addition/subtraction you do it from the left to right so :
10 + 5 - 5 + 5 + 5 - 5 + 0 = 15 - 5 + 5 + 5 - 5 + 0 = 10 + 5 + 5 - 5 + 0 = 15 + 5 - 5 + 0 =20 - 5 + 0 = 15 + 0 = 15
who thinks other is just stupid and should go back to the first class of primary school.

Its not set out in BODMAS/BIDMAS format, maybe math is teached differently around the world, But there is no Brackets in the equation anywere, its just one long equation with plus's and subtractions and mulitplications
*5 + 5 + 5 - 5 + 5 + 5 - 5 + 5 x 0 =* that was the answer what is zero
If it was set out say
5 + 5 + 5 - 5 + 5 + 5 - 5 + (5 x 0) =
Then if i remember my schooling correctly, you do the 5x0 first, what results in the answer being 15..
But it wasn't setout with the brackets, so the answer is zero.
Brackets Order Division Multiply Add Subtract.. there is no brackets, there for not Bodmas ^_^

There are 5 categories of people arguing their opinions in this thread.
1. Strictly using BODMAS and refusing any other system or notation as unrecognized or non-universal, declaring the correct answer to be 15.
2. Using a different system then BODMAS, in one example the absolute left to right system (which would have the answer be 0). And though not fully recognized throughout the world, being considered as a valid system.
3. Having not the slightest idea of what system they are using, or simply making a mistake in calculation.
4. Arguing the ambiguity of the matter. Declaring it is not specific enough and the answer could depend on the system used and notation.
5. Trolling :P
There is simply no end to this discussion....

[removed] the 5x0 is not in brackets so NO YOU DONT HAVE TO DO IT FIRST, its basic math.
The answer is 0 for all those retards out there, you start from left to right unless there is brackets lol.
