Weird thing.
Couple possibilities spring to mind:
- Maybe you've been operating under false assumptions, but have just been ultra lucky in the past, and the reality is just catching up...
OR
- Maybe you have changed your M.O in some way (possibly unconsciously)
Just as comparison, from Feb 2008 'till this day I've had app. 10 cancellations, all anticipated.

Indeed. As some have stated here, the sponsor aspect (just as other aspects) take some time and effort to discover.
Handling finances is a part of managing, and sponsors is a part of that. Your (potential) rivals most likely won't just hand over the information.

The sponsor challenge can be frusttating but boy is success a good feeling;)
Its not broken but sure can feel that way when things go ary must agree.
It certainly does appear that managers can and usually do get caught out undervaluing the impact of some of the sponsor stats that at first glance dont appear all that important compared to others.

In a 17 race season ..you don't think that's a long time?...and what about an average progress season can take longer to sign..in a 17 race season ,all while trying to manage driver oa,and finances..Sponsorship contracting takes too long to achieve ..we should be able to sign sponsors during season break for the whole season worth of races.All forms of racing sign sponsors during off season before the first race, it should be no different here in my opinion...then there is the low payout verses cost..sponsor gives you 700k a race and that wont cover most driver salaries not to mention parts cost to run like hell to keep the sponsor happy...Ive never had trouble with sponsorship ..this season has been the exception and it appears I'm not the only one having this issue..just look how many here say the same
I noticed you only have 1 sponsor yourself Mikko so looks like your not having the best of luck with signing either

I have had 2 sponsors in one season with a third about to come online... In itself this is a long time... I always thought I had it sussed - but this season things have been different...
Will be thinking more...

And this said, I'm still learning a lot about sponsors. But it takes time, effort, and a lot of work with your teammates.
Anyway, for what I read in this thread is easier to say, hey, I don't know how it works, it must be broken, tell me how it works or fix it.

This is not a form of racing, it's a management game. Sometimes realism has to be sacrificed for playability.

You have a certain amount of influence on this.

Here is mine, try to explain this:
At the beginning of this season our group got a few new sponsors.
I started to talk with one of them on the highest priority.
And one of my opponents did the same. (you know that, yellow text) No others.
At first, nothing special, depends on the results, one of us was ahead by 1-2%.
Great race - I thought.
Unfortunatly during the first 15 race I had 5(!!!) randoms so 2 race before my opponent took the lead. I was on 71.4%, the average was 72%, so I thought he has 73%.
Well, after the race I got the message, this sponsor agreed with another manager. Wait, WHAT???
Actually he has much weaker result than me, but forget it.
How the hell he gained by 27% in a single race??
I never got more then 10.5% and it was in an Amateur Group and as I experienced in higher levels your progress is slower.
So try to explain this for me, and tell its not a BUG...

I never had a problem with any sponsor. I must be a bug too? You can not just try with any sponsor, but you need to choose it carefully ... Or keep on blaming a bug.

No seriously the sponsoring is complicated, only my team had done lots of research, and although I still to buy some of the logica my team had worked out, it seems to work. Have lost 1 sponsor of I dont know 6 seasons or so, and that was only few races before their contract ended
Our team has probably found the way to pick sponsors and how to treat them (answers , results etc.)
I only cant get a grip on the offered amounts, but that something else.
So conclusion is work together and register all data !! you will find patterns
If you just try randomly you will keep losing sponsors for ever

I AM IN a team, which is actually an association of 10 teams.
We are working as a team, collecting and analyzing every data and we exactly see if something is wrong.
About the sponsors, something is definetaly wrong.
But u guys in this topic, not even try to understand this.
One says yellow = 1 manager, the other says yellow = 2 managers. And etc.
This show me clearly how u all understand the sponsors.
But I give it up, think whatever u want, sponsors works fine...

Well, it is really hard, but I try to accept your version: after all races, the two other guy were on a level (in summary) which was near the average. Hard, but give a chance for this.
But this sponsor was yellow during the whole season. And GPRO says its (one) another manager, not more.
So in your opinion, which is the difference between yellow and orange texted sponsors?

Don't believe in every written word here. I've seen some day a wooden fence, with a hole in it and "Chicks" written below. Could you imagine my dissapointment when I FOBY-ed it and found that there were no girls inside, but a farm? :-P
