Hi, I've just realized that we miss 2 race days because of a time of giving!
being X-mas you would like to think something extra may appear but instead we lose 2 races.
Now, I understand the reasoning behind the decision and accept it, it just feels very un-X-mas-ish.
I hope everyone has a fun filled time over the "holiday/time of giving" so our 2 races won't be missed.
Oh, as for Santa, maybe we get no races because we've all been naughty?!
I would prefer an extra X-mas race....... Without losing any...... So instead of -2, it'd be +1, for X-mas.

i think the break is good, will keep participation up, and the races aren't GONE, they're just postponed. still a 17 race season just like always. gives the crew a chance to enjoy the holiday season also.

63% of people who voted in the poll wanted either both races to be run or at least one of them.
52.1% (a majority) wanted both the be run.
30.6% wanted both races skipped.
Listening to the majority, well done :)

But yea, I agree.... entirely irrelevant to hold a poll if you've got your mind made up. Actually does more harm than good for any kind of image.

I think crew were probably in favour of postponing the races unless an overwhelming part of the community would vote to keep them. But there was not an overwhelming majority, just a very narrow one. So I think they have the right to decide against that.

I agree with the gpro gods, I accept the decision, i only observed that,from my view point , it just seemed ironic.
I like Marks suggestion and Max, my girl wants it like that and takes full credit. She said to say thanks. :-)

Well, I don't see a point in dissecting the numbers in such a way really. I think in the poll the admins did say that they wouldn't use the result as a deciding factor, only as guidance. Now, if Vlad felt more inclined to not run the races either cos he was busy or he was looking at the numbers from previous years and sceptical then its kinda who are we to say otherwise. It isn't about a majority as such - the only majority that matters in the end is when Vlad looks at the feedback, previous history and however he fancies spending the holidays.
Perhaps if there was an overwhelming majority wanting both races then maybe he'd feel a greater need to run them and putting his own holiday time on hold. But given that only 52% wanted both races, that's still 42% that were not keen (taking out those with no opinion). I suppose if I was running a game I'd rather not bother running the races either if there was a significant number that would rather not be racing, and more importantly, if the admins would rather not be around here either. Personally i'm not fussed either way, I've got plenty of things to occupy myself with, as it seems so have 42% of others :)
