It was actually Giuliano Alesi who lost control at Eau Rouge, I think Hubert hit Alesi and flew into the barrier, and then we know what happened

I was watching the F2 only for him...

Maybe Correa could (should) brake harder but it's not easy to make a judgement.

It's almost impossible to do something because he made a mistake and gone too wide at around 300 kmph, there were rivals from the left and wall from the right. More than that, it's Eau Rouge. All the drivers told that everything you see when you drive there is a vertical asphault wall and sky. It looks like Correa get Hubert car in the visible zone too late.

I am very worried about Correa in fact. I agree with Alexei, there was probably nothing he could do about the crash. But those questions that are being asked here - should he have braked earlier, could he have gone more to the left? - surely he will be asking those questions to himself as well. It must be a devastating thought. I hope he gets the necessary support and finds a way to deal with this quickly.

Correa was confirmed to have suffered 2 broken legs as well as a damaged spine. Hopefully he makes a full recovery. With everything happening at 170mph, its tough to react when you come over the crest and see a car pointing sideways half a second down the road. Its just very unfortunate how everything happened and unfortunately its paid the ultimate consequence. Drivers need to be better protected still on the sides as the wings are essentially spears with how toughly made the cars are, essentially a T-Bone accident, time and time again especially in stock cars, when its a t-bone it often has huge consequences. The fact Anthoine's car was in 2 halves shows how much the velocity was

The problem was that he suffered two impacts on his left hand side. The first impact in the barriers 'consumed' the side impact structures but I'm sure Hubert was fine up to this point. But then there was the second impact, where there was no more impact structure left. Building a car so that it survives two big impacts from the same direction is virtually impossible.

This is very true. I feel the tyrewall needs moving back, however without cutting tree's down its virtually impossible. Maybe even replace the tyre walls with tech-pro barriers instead, something that doesn't make the car just bounce back onto the track or close to the track
Also according to an article i've just rad (Off WTF1 so who knows if its true or not) Alesi Span and hit the wall with his rear wing at the top of Radillon, bounced onto the racing line, his teammate Boschung broke to avoid him, Hubert hit Boschung's right rear, sprung into the barrier and then Correa apparently already lost his front wing in the melee had nowhere to go so a huge seriously on unfortunate events
Having found footage on youtube (i know, really bad to go looking) its pretty much exactly as explained. It seems Hubert lost his front wing, it went under the car and he skidded into the barrier and Correa got a puncture during all that from all the debris so nothing he could've done to slow the car down
I sort of think its not just Correa that might need help, quite a lot of the people involved might need some sort of therapy, if not most of the grid that saw it perhaps

@Jasper Coosemans (M2) At this speed even a single impact would have been fatal most likely. The human body just isn't made for side impacts and with those G-forces the mono can only do so much... One of those freak accidents we've seen a bit too much, but there is little than can be done apart from minimizing the risks. Whenever a human is in a vehicle - whatever vehicle - death is always driving along side, impossible to prevent.
