I am such an idiot. I upgraded my car, at great expense, then took it down to the test track and destroyed it. That's not a mistake I'll make again!

Quote ( Elizabeth Mills @ September 14th 2019,16:56:33 ) I upgraded my car, at great expense, then took it down to the test track and destroyed it. That's not a mistake I'll make again! Mistakes are a good opportunity to learn, so... money well spent (?)
also.... remember this:
8.2 Resetting your account If you are in Rookie and have done less than 17 races you can reset your account by using the "Account Reset" option in the "Account settings" page.
/GPRORules.asp#82-resetting-your-account
So... IF you want, you can make as many "mistakes" as you like and then reset the account
That being said, rookie is the place to do all the mistakes one likes, so there's no rush to do the reset

Not an idiot, a Rookie! Which is why you start in the Rookie class 😊

I'm in my 19th season Elizabeth, and i could still open a "How not to do it" topic every few races, exposing a different mistake every time.
So get used to the feeling and take it easy, the learning curve of this game is infinite (as it's the fun one has playing it :) )

Thanks guys. I am really enjoying it, and looking forward to lots more mistakes.
Somehow or other, I seem to have landed P2 on the grid for my third race. It remains to be seen what I can do to throw that away tomorrow.

I did that this season as well, but I wasn't brave enough to tell everyone
My grandfather (on lending money) always said it is worth $10 to find out who your friends are. I propose that it is also worth $10 million to find out what testing does.
PS Goodwinds put out a great video about Stirling Moss on his 90th birthday this week. (embedding links is my kryptonite)
Edit: If you are reading this in future seasons - Bremgarten is a nasty track to test on. It doesn't always cost that much.

And yeah... just did this myself with an added wrinkle.
I replaced a single part after a few test laps, and then kept running laps until basically the entire car is at around 90 to 98% wear.
And now I can't upgrade anything on the car until after the next race.
So FML.

Athol We live and learn.
Id also be aware that this years test track is high on wear.. so its worth thinking about wether one million plus all that wear is worth the expenditure and not better to just upgrade a few cheaper parts and get extra Car character points that way?
Make a note of what increases when you upgrade and you will soon know what increases what and by how much :)
Just a thought.
