My Sponsor just pulled their contract. 1st season in Ama after busting ass to win sign the sponsor and then wen the Rookie title. This is my teams first sponsor. 8 races past a championship and this sponsor leaves. Currently clear of relegation(28th)and plenty of $ on hand. In negotiations we agreed to "Relegate with cash" next year. Finish today was 18th out of a very competitive 36.
In summation: I, Fred Lassen, am suing my former car sponsor for breach of contract. My team fulfilled every part of our agreement. I will have my day in court!

I just contacted your former sponsor, they said you get your contract back if you relegate back to Rookie and bring the negotiation to 100% again.
On a serios note: I also think that the expectation question should have more influence, but you know there are reliable and less reliable sponsors out there :/

Fred Lassen Racing Incorporated does NOT wish to name the Sponsor at this time. My Team and I picked a quality sponsor with a solid Reputation and Patience. All employees here at FLR are shocked by their brazen action. We here at FLR are just a small family owned shop in America. All 49 employees jobs are now at stake. Sponsor is a huge Multi-national Conglomerate. We take great pride in honoring our contracts. Sponsor should as well. I am sure that this is all a misunderstanding and that talks with Sponsor will lead to a settlement soon.
However, if FLR is forced to take on the expense litigating this situation in court, we will be seeking Treble damages from Sponsor.
All legal help is welcome. We will have our day justice!

The contract clearly states that a sponsor can "throw you a surprise."
From 5.1 of the game rules reads as follows:
"A sponsor pulling back from a negotiation or canceling an active contract are both situations directly related to the way you negotiated the contract with the sponsor. After each race the sponsors will pay the money directly to you, and depending on your results, they may even throw a few surprises at you!"

All I'm saying is that there should be a termination fee for a sponsor cancelling a contract. We do it already for driver contracts. IRL there would be a cancellation clause and/or Sponsor would be sued. Both sides would do some calculations and an offer would be made.
FLR is still seeking 3X damages if I have to litigate further :)
Edit: I would like to thank everyone who has reached out to offer help. This was a Very Good sponsor that my teamates and I identified as one that would hang in there. No FOBY laws broken here.

Sponsors will do this. They probably decided they'd rather spend less, & on a better-known driver.
Same thing happened to Mendy Fry, once, IIRC. (Could have been Lori Johns; it's been awhile... ) Jolly Rancher, her #1 sponsor, dropped her & went to John Force.
I've been boycotting Jolly Rancher for about 30yr for doing it... :)
I can boycott your sponsor, too, if you think it'll help any. ;p

What! That won't even cover their bar bill from the last race! What is that? Not even 1/3 of one race payment? Never mind payment for the duration of the contract.
2 problems still exist.
1. This payment is laughably low.
2. The sponsor pulling the contract level is set way too high in the game. I am doing all the right things. There is no reason to for a Sponsor to leave. I want the season to go better as well. This game is not easy. Winning my rookie championship with the Sponsor should cement them to me for at least the next season.
What am I supposed to do with all this merchandise with their logo all over it? Ihave coffee mugs, Full cardboard and Fathead cutouts, Don't get me started with the T-Shirts. Couisin Jeb ordered a few to many IMO.

Are you sure. Maybe there are things that you haven't considered.

Maybe you can use the cardboard Fatheads to light the grill and hand the T-shirts over to the pit crew for oil rags :)

Just reporting here from the backwater of low am that the game could be improved.
The algorithm to terminate a sponsor contract is to harsh and the payment is too low. The game should always try to be as realistic as possible and it fails badly here.
Mikko, I believe I checked all the boxes correctly with the Sponsor. All the sponsor guides that my team had previously and that I had sent to me as a result of this thread concur. If I'm wrong then a lot of people are doing it wrong as well.
In the end, this has taken a chunk out of my love for this game. I have tried to keep my suggestion post humorous but I feel that I have exhausted the topic.
