He has complained that no one mentions him during the interviews, so how about a full interview with the Morris Man himself, Mr Kyle Morris!
JH: Hi there!! To whomever who may not know you, what is your full name and occupation? And what are your hobbies apart from GPRO? :)
KM: Why hello there, I dont think there is many people who dont know who I am! But those at the back my name is Kyle Morris. It's funny you say about occupation as I've literally just gone into a new role :D I was an administrator but now I am a Student Pharmacy Technician in my local hospital! Outside of GPRO I might be one of the most boring people around! I spend most of my time playing video games, but I also do cosplay and go to conventions when there isnt a pandemic going around! I'd say I've been on and off learning to play guitar but it's like 95% off for the past like 6 years
JH: Oooh, cosplay! Any photos of recent cosplays you have done? :)
KM: Last time I did think we are talking christmas time. I do have an instagram for it that is used a lot less than it should probably. (Message Kyle for the handle :P)
JH: Hehe, I will see if I am actually allowed to post a link :) If not, would you mind me screenshotting and posting a picture along with the interview? :D
So, how did you find GPRO, and what got you staying here?
Cosplay Link: https://i.gyazo.com/20e4933ea3ab26346d49a8f1aa627141.png
KM: I wouldnt mind no!
I found this from another game! There is a game called Managerleague they used to advertise eachother and Managerleague had a sponsor in most groups it seems, and like I was into F1 and thought "oh this looks cool" so tried it, and havent looked back since! Now I feel like the other game is just a huge pay to win game it feels, where you have to pretty much buy credits to train players, while this game is completely free to win, and it's one of very few games to still have the mentality which is hugely appreciate it
JH: Fair! Do you still play Managerleague?
KM: I do not. Havent touched it for a few years now, not long after I started here
JH: Fair enough! So let's get to your GPRO career! You promoted on your first season, winning a couple of times and scoring a few podiums. How did you find it back then? Was it sheer luck, or did you have help from a mentor?
KM: Sure luck, evident with the fact I relegated straight away. I was a true noob. Spent the first 2 races crashing at the first turn then won the 3rd race. I was using over 70 clear track risk, force to the front at the start of my career, and not gonna lie didnt listen much at the start. Like especially at the start it might say i joined 3 different teams but in truth none of them said anything or had the ability to say anything, which was why they were very short stays
JH: Fair enough. I remember my start was very dicey, even after joining my first team. But the fact that you won your third ever race just lets people know how easy Rookie is :)
So throughout your illustrious career, you have never reached Elite. Why do you think that is?
KM: It was a lot easier to do before energy! It's still easy ish now but you can easily do well on 0ct if you prepare your driver properly. Rookie is all about the driver. You can blitz the field and save a huge amount (see my Season 55)
Oooooo hard hitting question! From experience I have always found the jump from pro to master the hardest to get right. Always run out of money aha. You need to have a complete package in master to even consider the promotion, something I've never been able to accomplish for various reasons (and most because I've had to compete with a driver on a "premium tyre" every time I've promoted from pro!) The competition in master also is very even, like going from rookie to amateur you'll always get rookies, amateur to pro again there is sort of rookies but in the way of not knowing what to do in pro, going to master, they have all either stayed in master for a few seasons, been in elite a lot or promoted from pro, which is a similar division in some ways you pro, just more "elite like" shall we say, I think I've always been on the borderline of a pro in master, anything more than that, I havent accomplished
JH: Hard hitting indeed! So, do you see yourself getting to Elite in the near (or far :P) future? What changes would you do to accomplish this?
KM: That's everyones dream isnt it! Not only getting to Elite but being Elite champion. Probably plan better as at the moment I only have the wing it strategy and see how it goes. I think however it's just the case of planning properly with the driver and the car and facilities as well, as well as testing! There is a lot of factors needed to promote!
JH: That's the spirit!
Let us go through your teams now. You have mentioned before that your first three teams were pretty non-existent, which is why you left them. Which team was the first that has helped you tremendously, and which team has propelled you to what you are capable of now?
KM: First proper team that helped me loads was Acadamite. They were the academy team of what were Larmite and Legemite (before a split and name change) but the guys in all the teams truly helped me get to where I was. Especially some of the help from people like Pieterjan Staessen (who told me to join) and Leigh Gaskin who gave me a lot of advice. There is a lot of people k still talk to from them teams, Dan Tackaberry and Aaron Littlewood I still play games with, and Alihan Zor I'm teammates with in URM so it's nice to have had all these friends
The team that's gotten me to that next step that I'm at is reAnimated. These guys have been incredibly helpful as well, like we knew the basics in Quantum Force but reanimated have pushed me to be even better and with even more detail. And the fact that we can still have the banter means it's not all that serious and it's just a great environment which of course just helps the motivation to keep going
JH: That is awesome! I rarely talk to the people I was ex team-mates with, only because they have all retired now! And re-Animated. Apparently, my current team are their feeder team, but we don't talk about that. :)
How did joining re-Animated actually happen for you?
KM: I wouldnt say we are, they just apply and we are a sucker for Sunday Drivers :D
I wouldn't say it just did, but it literally just did :D I do like any normal person does and apply and viola. Best advice for anyone is just to sell yourself like you do for a job and you'll go a long way here, dont just apply, sell yourself
JH: Good advice there :)
Well, let us get to the hosting of the GPRO Oscars! How did this gig come about? What made you want to host these prestigious awards?
KM: It started off as a joke. We started joking about it after the S59 thread which Ivan Silva hosted amazingly, and we discussed in our team chat about me and Dominik Karda creating a double act for it, and then Robin Goodey just put in the topic for us 2 to host S60! it didn't curtail into much after than, Ivan had the idea of Kyleman and Domin, but not a huge amount was said after that. It got to R13 next season, and noone had really put their name forward for hosting it. There hadn't been a permanent host since Mikko Suhonen hosted it, and i was like "sod it, lets give the people what they want" So yeah, hosted S60!
I also hosted S61 after that, and while S62 came to mind, i didn't think of myself as a host, so let Ahmet do that season. S63 came around and again, noone put their name forward. Lyee approached me to host them (not going to lie, with a little incentive as well) and so i hosted S63, and thought it would just be easier there after to be the permanent host! Its the sense of consistency that is needed to make something great, and by having a permanent host, you can almost guarantee that it will happen. At this stage, its just a given that i am host it feels, even though some oscars its hard, and i truly have the "Can't be Bothered" attitude, but got through it, and then look forward to not having to worry about it for 2 months :D
JH: Wow, most great stuff usually happens as an accident or a joke, so to see this wonderful combination of Kyle Morris and Oscar host is just wonderful!
Would you see yourself giving up the hosting job anytime soon? If so, who would you like to see as host?
KM: Unless something happens in real life or I retire I cant see me giving it up. It's pretty much my baby now. As for someone else hosting it, someone who is well known in the community who would actually care for the oscars and not let it die and can actually dedicate a few hours of their time to do it. I stand by what I say, very few people could possibly host the oscars. I personally would think Beagles would do an amazing job at it!
JH: JB is a great shout! And I agree, you should be the Oscars host forever!
Finally, let's talk about the Silly Games scene! How did you get into Silly Games on GPRO? What was your first silly game?
KM: Again that was something that just happened. I dont even know what my first silly game was
Okay after quick research it was S124 of the F1 Forum Game. Dont even remember the season that much, I've been involved in too many these days. I think it was one of them cases where I always wanted to try them but didnt know what response I would get as a new person joining. But it's just really easy and it's a great community, it's just a shame not many people are into it, especially because in between races there would be nothing to do.
The fact as well there is so many unique games around now like Formula Generally, F1 Revisited, Football World, FP league, Forum Game, Strategy 7's and Podium Predicton just to name a few I play, they all have their uniqueness and all require something different, it makes you come back more and more, especially when another unique games comes around
JH: My first game (without checking) I think is a Cricket game, but not very sure on that haha.
What has been your favourite silly game of all time?
KM: Thats such a tough a horrible question because its tough to single out a game that is my favourite of all time! SRS was such a fantastic game that everybody loved because of its simplicity. Formula Generally is also great also because its simple but also immersive at the same time. F1 Revisited has been such a staple also in the silly game community, and the complexity of it is always so intriguing to get right, as you would know being a teammate :D i forgot to mention Ultimate Race Manager in the previous post, but the fact its like doing another race of GPRO but much simpler but also complex. I think thats the key to a great silly game, make it simple, get crowds interest and be motivated to continue it and listen to others if they want a change, that is the way of a good game! Could even plug that All about GPRO game as well ;)
As you can see i didn't answer the question there :D Just because i don't think you can call a silly game your favourite, they all deserve to be a favourite for all the hard work the hosts do!
JH: Fair enough, I was a little harsh asking for your all time favourite :)
Thank you for accepting this interview with myself! Just one more question. Who is going to win the Elite Championship and Team Championship in S79?
KM: S79, bit ahead of yourself there, you are only in rookie :p
I'll play it save with R10and Postle and Force One
JH: I didn't want to do next season, but nice! Thanks for accepting this interview!!
KM: You are very welcome, thank you for having me

This was the Kyle Morris who won the votes to become the Oscars Host. The other Kyle Morris was unavailable to be interviewed for "personal reasons".
