Welcome to the game! Last time what is now called Bremgarten hit 50 degrees probably some dinosaur hunted another and cavemen where not yet invented ;)
This is a game where you have to plan a lot in advance, but have to deal with and accept failry random things, like weather changes.

I mean I'm mad as well, but a lot of people suffered it, so it isn't something what just happened to a few people as a "random".
We'll have to live with it and move on. ;)

I qualified with 10 minutes to go and had it left as 1 lap by default as I usually do. Otherwise decent race but not pitting meant I finished 15th

Everyone has a coin and can play heads or tails to decide the strategy.
At start Head = DRY / Tails = RAIN
When it rains: Head = DRY / Tails = RAIN
When the track is dry: Head DRY / Tails = RAIN
If not HEAD x3 or not Tails x3, you need a dice to choose:
Wait to pit if it starts raining: 6 was fantastic.
Wait to pit if it stops raining: 1+ was good.
Both, was win.
Unfortunately I didn't find the dice today. :(
Faster than thinking about strategy, and has the same lottery chance of going right / wrong. And the other 15 or 30 minutes (or 18hours) that you would spend thinking about the strategy, you would be more productive.

3 pits in 8 laps (1 by random) and another pit at lap 41, with atotal of 5 laps. Fell back 15 positions from start, 5 places in the standing and lost 1 sponsor. The pit at the end was purely my fault, as I usually set to wait 2 laps to pit after rain stops, but the 3 pits in a row was sheer bad luck. My worst race ever!

I was holidaying my team mate, trying to lower his driver's motivation by forcing him to use dry tires all race. He ended up finishing mid-table...
Oh, and I finished dead last because I thought the race would be mostly wet. :P

not my first time to pit on the same lap the rain restarts.
this time : tyre worn .. had to be replaced.
last time : ran out of fuel .. but they got it right .. ( only have to spend 10 extra seconds) to find the correct tyre .

Indeed, thread is old as GPRO is.
We can have 99% rain probability and 1 lap of rain. It's crazy but you can't complain. Was it raining? Yes it was. Rain probability says only that rain will start raining with 99% chance.
So the system is poor, but it's easier to make new helmet design than make better weather solution.

I love these kaos type of races and find them too rare.
It didn't benefit me at all this time, but still, way more fun than a predictable dry only race. :)

I'm in the game for quite some time already. I've already learned that weather is one of the most unpredictacle things in GPRO. GPRO stays a managementgame and not a race game and races like this require more management then 0% rain races. I always look at races like this with a mindset of what would be the worst that could happen and try to plan accordingly.
For this race I was hoping for a full wet race, so I went with enough fuel for a onestopper. In my opinion there was a big chance that the rain would stop in the first 15 laps followed by a dry period and then again wet for the rest of the race like most of you. So I went with a big fuel load for the 3d stint. I didn't anticipate enough for becoming dry and wet again, it would have been better to put less fuel in for after stint 3 but it still worked out quite well.
I don't really mind those special races. It's part of the game and requires extra planning compared to a full dry race, but I don't consider that as a bad thing. A few optimalisations might be useful:
-in every season there are often 0% rain races, maybe it would be a good thing to have a 100% rain race from time to time
-With weather change a lot of time, it's very hard to get a really accurate race plan. I think it wouldn't be bad to add an option as don't pit again when the weather changes and ... laps are left or something like that.
-In the race strategy you can set the amount of laps if it starts raining and stops raining. I think it would be good if we could set this on every stint instead of for the complete race.
Next race is a (boring) 0% race, that will be easier to manage for sure then this odd race.
