S4 saw an exciting race that went down to the wire, as we see rookie Chuck Norris defeat the experienced Keke Rosberg when it came down to the Driver's Championship. Meanwhile, Mercedes pulled off a stunning final day Constructor's Championship victory, having started the day 25 points below the leaders, and managing to clinch the victory against both SVA and Cooper.
After an extended season break, we now head into S5 with interest in how the season would pan out. Blown tyres have been tweaked slightly to a slightly different compound this season, and that might have some interesting effects on the championship battle this season....Would Mercedes continue their heroics of last season into this season? And will we see an even more exciting battle for the Constructor's this season? Only time will tell....
Introduction
This concept of this game was introduced and tested by Nate Lung, and with his permission, will be modified from that to this game.

How to Play
Each player controls 2 drivers from a team. For each race, you would have to submit to me a PM detailing the tyre choices and the laps which you want to pit in that race for each of the drivers, as well as a qualifying number (1-100)
Based on your overall timing, your drivers will be ranked in the race. Should timings be identical, tiebreakers will be based on your qualifying rank. Only the top 32 drivers in qualifying would make it into the actual race.
Each track would differ in the number of laps present. Races for a track will be around 25% of the official number of laps (11-22 laps). I reserve the right to change the number of laps in any race should I feel the need to do so.
At the 50% mark of the race, there would be an elimination. The bottom 8 racers would be eliminated at that point and would not complete the race.
In the event that a race has an odd number of laps, the number would be rounded up. For example, in Melbourne where there are 15 laps, 50% mark would be after Lap 8 is completed.
Qualifying
Based on the random number that you have provided to me for each driver, as well as the qualifying tyre, a qualifying time would be obtained for each driver. The formula for the qualifying time would be as follows:
Qualifying Time = 0.1s + (Difference from Random Number x Tyre Choice Multiplier)
Tyre Choice Multiplier will be as follows:
OPTION - 0.1
SOFT - 0.2
MEDIUM - 0.3
HARD - 0.4
PRIME - 0.5
So to put an example, let's say you chose 25 as your qualifying number and starting on Softs, and the random number was 50.
Your qualifying time would be: 0.1 + (25*0.2) = 5.1s
Tyre Choices
You have 5 choices of tyres to choose from. Each tyre can last for different lengths of laps, and would have different speeds. These tyres can be seen below:
PRIME - 1-9 Laps/ +0.5s per lap
HARD - 1-7 Laps/ +0.4s per lap
MEDIUM - 1-6 Laps/+0.3s per lap
SOFT - 1-5 Laps/ +0.2s per lap
OPTION - 1-3 Laps/ +0s per lap
You must use at least 2 compounds in the entire race. You can use any compound more than once, and you do not need to go the maximum distance for that compounds (Eg: You can go 6 laps on a Prime tyre).
Blown Tyres
This is a new addition starting from S4, with some minor tweaks for S5. Blown tyres would allow you to extend the tyre life for an extra lap, but at the cost of severe time loss (with softer tyres suffering more time loss than harder tyres). The proposed time loss are currently as follows:
OPTION - +0.6s time loss
SOFT - +0.4s time loss
MEDIUM - +0.3s time loss
HARD - +0.2s time loss
PRIME - +0.1s time loss
Traffic - +0.3s per every extra driver pitting in that lap (as compared to +0.2s for those without blown tyres)
Note that the time loss seen here does not include base time of tyres. So for example, if you were using Softs for 6 laps, the actual time would = (0.2s x 6) + 0.4s = 1.6s.
Pit Stops
You can make any number of pit stops you want in a race. Each pit stops adds 1.7 seconds to your lap time. In addition to that, you would +0.2s for every extra driver pitting in the lap.
For example, if a driver on Mediums pits in Lap 9 with 4 other drivers, his total lap time would be +2.8 seconds for that lap (+1.7s from pit, +0.8s from pitting with 4 other drivers, +0.3s for using Mediums)
Scoring
Scoring would be given to the top 15 finishers as such: 20-18-16-15-14-12-11-10-8-6-5-4-3-2-1
PM
When messaging me your choices in the race, please indicate the tyre of choice and how many laps you want to do with them, as well as a qualifying number (1-100) for both drivers. Remember to send in strategies for both drivers.
Example:
Driver 1 (Qualifying Number: 10)
Tyre 1: Softs (4 Laps)
Tyre 2: Option (3 Laps)
Tyre 3: Prime (8 laps)
Driver 2 (Qualifying Number: 47)
Tyre 1: Medium (6 laps)
Tyre 2: Soft (5 laps)
Tyre 3: (4 laps)

Deadlines for races would be at 19:00 CET on Tuesdays and Fridays.

Season 6 Changes
Blown Tyres - Given the introduction of blown tyres, a new rule has been set in place, with effect from R1 of this season. All drivers ending the race in blown tyres will be subject to a new time penalty due to the inability of the blown tyres to cope in heavy traffic and pressure.
The amount of time loss from ending on blown tyres would = 0.1s x (Number of people ending with blown tyres - 1)
Basically, it works similar to the traffic system, so if 5 people ended a race on blown tyres, the time loss would be 0.1s x (5-1) = 0.4s penalty.

We are also OPEN for new participants to join - Ideally, I would like to have 16 teams just so that we can make the best use of the traffic, so if anyone is interested, just post ##Join with:
- Your team name (Has to be a real life team - Past or present)
- 2 drivers (Can be anyone, fictional or real, past or present, even yourself! Just no offensive names please)
I will post details for the first race sometime tomorrow or Thursday, with the idea being to start on Tuesday.
It will be a pre-season race, 50 laps, all out racing just for fun before the new season :)

Pre-Season Testing - Indy Oval Elimination Race
OSR is finally back in full swing after an extended season break, and we head once again to Indy Oval for the amazing thrill of going round.....and round.....and round.....and round again. Well, it's bound to be exciting as we see some new faces on the grid this season, and fans will be excited to see their favourite teams in action once again. Of course, it's pre-season testing, so this wouldn't be an accurate representation of how the teams are expected to perform in the actual race, but with pride at stake here, we might still see a competitive race out here in Indianapolis!
Its circular, its fast, its the Indy Oval 60 ladies and gentlemen!
Fun Fact: Chuck Norris, who debuted in S4 Indy Oval 50 finished 3rd last season on this track, and subsequently went on to win the title that season. Good performance here = Good performance in the season?
Format:
Qualifying - This will occur as per normal, with the normal rules in play. Your qualifying position would serve as the tiebreaker for the rest of the race, so it might be something important for you to consider! All drivers who participate in qualifying will race in the actual race, so there will not be any elimination in this pre-season race.
Race - The race will run over a period of 60 laps, with elimination at every 12 laps, i.e: Lap 12, 24, 36, and 48. In each elimination, the bottom 3 will be eliminated from the race. Normal traffic rules and pit timings will apply, so eliminated drivers will not contribute to the traffic beyond where they have been eliminated.
Pre-Season Elimination Race: Indy Oval 60s
Track: Indianapolis Motor Speedway
Laps: 60 (With bottom 3 eliminated every 12 laps)
Qualifying Record: Sylvester Stallone - SVA (0.2s)
Track Record: Tom Pryce - Arrows (38.0s)
If possible, submission of the first part should be done by 19:00 CET on Tuesday, 5th October 2021. If you have sent earlier, I will try my best to publish results as early as possible, but no promises on that. Please confirm with me as well if you will be keeping your drivers and teams before the start of this race, preferably I would like to not have to change drivers and teams after the start of this pre-season race.
