It was a fun fight for promotion, 'till we meet again guys.
Congratulations to @Hakan Tatar and @Rich Weaving (M2) on their promotions. Such a shame to see @Richard Sawkins (A30) not making it, as it was a good fight. And every race always there was someone else jumping into the fray, very exciting.
Good luck!!

Damn, that was shaping up to be a fascinating 3 way scrap for first place until the rain stopped. Congrats on the win though, Christian. 2nd was better than i was expecting so i'm not complaining.

Crazy season and crazy weather.
Believe me, no way I'm going for promo this season.

Crazy indeed!.... PRO is tough damn. How do you dont get poor here?
|
|
|
Agree with you all, guys. Very hard season and/or PRO is also that hard...

Seems like we have a lot of talented managers in here too… I love how each race we have no idea who’s going to win . Still no idea who’s going to promo xD

Really a leveled group. Been looking at other PRO groups and usually with few points you are asafe from relegation. In S81 PRO4 you needed 10 points to be safe! crazy. Maybe a few of you push at the end and we have not seen those who will be near master?

I'm not sure i'd agree, after all I have 18 pts with a lv5 car, in terms of retention it's about having a good plan imo. Promotion is a different kettle of fish though so you're possibly right on that count.

You are former Elite... your knowledge and experience is faaaarrr from mine. I imagine that that changes a bit the view on difficulty. :} Also kudos for your GPRO career... amazing.

No huge secret. It's just about having the right driver with at least one good FT and aligning your car in such a way as to target specific races with a good PHA match. Tyre choice can be a factor but weather is random so sometimes a bit of luck there helps (the rain in race 6 really helped in what was already planned to be a push race for me).

Thank you a lot for sharing it. Would you say the same about Master and Elite?

"Would you say the same about Master and Elite?"
To a lesser extent. My package was largely wrecked when i dropped back to Master last time but i managed to retain for several seasons using such strategies (got a little lucky once or twice though). Master is that little bit harder than Pro. In some ways I think Elite is marginally easier than Master for retention as you have less competition for TD's and Drivers during market madness and of course you don't need to worry about driver OA anymore.
p.s. If you appreciate the comments free free to 'thumbs up' them. I have very bad rep on my forum posts due to a controversial post I made some years ago and I need lots of thumbs up to compensate 🤣

It was pretty controversial and created a lot of debate. I still think it is valid especially when talking about new players.
So you still think that using tools for setup and fuel calc is cheating? I thought you guys had those in nuvolari
|
|
|
Only in the context of new players. For example, if Nuvolari took a new manager and gave him access to our tools then they would likely dominate rookie, am and probably even pro. We do occasionally take new players on at Nuvolari but only on a mentor basis, they have limited access to our discord but no access to our main tool.
Some teams do not have such high 'morals' though and will allow new players access to very powerful tools that give them an unfair advantage over other new players.

It is an interesting discussion... and a respectable opinion. But I would mention that as you cannot control de access to information, trying to regulate that access is futile. It would only generate a greater gap from those with lots of time/experience and tools in the game and those who are starting. You will end loosing a lot of new players as the learning curve would be too steep. Also a lot of experienced players are demoted on purpose to rookie or AMA for "building" a pilot... so that would not be fair in my opinion... I think that access to tools and knowledge makes the game more interesting... strategy becomes more important and choices [like tyres] take an important role.

I guess it depends on how deep you want to get into the game and what you want to get out of it. I'm not a programmer or even that great at math. I did try building my own tool once but it was mediocre at best.
I know some people have little patience and just want to jump into games, play them for a while then move onto something else and that's their choice but there is so much depth to this game and I really think you get far more out when you take your time, learn as much as you can by yourself or with other new players then finally try to get into a top team.
Yes, many Nuvo's slide back to Am to rebuild. I'm trying to do it the hard way though ;)

Fair enough. My point is that even if everybody could agree on your point, it would be very hard to implmeent cause it takes one not to comply that the level playing field would dissapear.
I started with no tools and gradually received more and more advanced ones... to a point that now I am creating a "more simple" one for myself since I don't have -unluckily- the time to handle complex tools. I am also not a programmer or good at maths :}. So my tool will be mediocre as well. heheh

Hello, I take part in the very interesting conversation because myself, I try to create my own tool (weather, PMA, settings) to have only the pleasure to say: "I succeeded thanks to my work and not that of others". Of course at the beginning I needed a team to explain me the mechanics of the game, I needed their tools too but I think the most rewarding is to progress alone even if I realize that it is really very very complicated. This first experience in Pro will allow me not to make the same mistakes I did this season.
