On the PS3 i am using directional buttons instead of sticks for player movement. If its available on PS3 i dont see why it isnt available on the X-box

I read a test about FIFA 09 for PS3. They clearly said that the control of the players is just with the sticks.
A reason for me not to buy it.

09 is much better than 08, but online play on ps3 can be very annoying, when players stop running for no reason...other than that career and be a pro mode are very good!

FIFA08 was good on PS3, but the PC versions suck more and more the newer the version. I haven't tried the PS3 version of FIFA09, because i hate joypads/gamepads/joysticks in football simulation.
I am and always will be a keyboard fan when it comes to this kind of games, but on a PC the game engine is completely different, filled with bugs and a really stupid goalkeeper that completely ruins the game.
Buying it on a PC is a complete waste of time.
Regarding the PC version, FIFA09 is a carbon copy of FIFA08... with more bugs and more physical contact, meaning more stupid and really random rebounding balls, more teammates automatically moving against you when you have the ball, etc., etc., and an even more stupid keeper, like i said above.
I never liked PES, way too much arcade other than real football, meaning way too many random aspects in the game, although FIFA has seen better days regarding that particular aspect. FIFA02 would have been the best football simulator ever, if not, again, for its really stupid keeper that would actually suffer all sort of goals from shots taken from afar, really afar.
After FIFA02, FIFA03's game engine was a major turn-down and PES started winning a lot of market over FIFA, and then FIFA just tried to copy things from PES (they could have copied the good things, but they just went and copied the things i really hated about it, and made it worse... :S). Again, this on the PC version. May sound very strange, but it's like the PS3 version is a completely different game. Don't know about the XBOX or Wii versions, so... :)

Look at the stumbling FIFA players. Well, this year's game seems to be a lot better, but PES has some advantages, which let you think...
For myself, licenses are not everything. When I first searched a Football game for PS2, I saw PES2 and loved it. Since then, I play PES.
FIFA too, but just to see the FC Basel(Was now in PES too) and other license teams. Not bad, the game, but my favorite is still PES.

Hehe, I just bought PES 2009 from the best game place in Basel, the PLAY TOWER:)
And it has the FC Basel in it, I heard, yeah;)
Oh, ManU and Liverpool are in too and they got the Champions League license, with some more new stuff, sounds good:)
The only thing I still find not so good is that they never have all Premier League teams officialy licensed in the game, they are always changing...

Ermin, I am a hughe PES FAN! I like the game play much, since the last 6 years, when I got PES2! And there weren't much licenses, but I stuck with it, because it was brilliant:)
licenses never harm, look at FIFA, but they still need more to attack the great PES.
The licenses are just... additional...
But you know... The FC Basel is the biggest club in my nearness.
FC Basel: Costanzo; Safari, Ferati, Abraham, Zanni; Huggel, Chipperfield, Stocker, Ergic; Streller, Derdiyok
