I need some mentor, to guide me thru the start of this game

greetings. im a complete rookie looking for a mentor. all this is a tad overwhelming

IDK man, you've manage to score over 600 points in over 400 races all while spending less than 20 minutes per race in the game. Sounds like you have it figured out pretty well.

I have spoken to Vlad and he is happy for me to give it a go and will also provide a list of all new players joining.
The idea is simple. Looking for experienced managers (Im not going to get all silly about time spent in the game, just if you know the basics!) to become a coach to brand new players if they choose to accept one.
My idea is for the first three races of their career that you commit to one manager, and after that its at your discretion. The new players will be aware of this too and that you will be busy mentoring others after that period so you wont be bombarded :-)
Would be fantastic if you we could get as many speakers of different languages as possible, to spread the load.
So one manager, to one new player, first three races and they will have expressed an interest to be coached. After that, you will be allocated a new manager if you like the scheme and want to continue and you can do it as long or as short as you would like, no pressure :-)
Obviously, no exact data and all that jazz, but simple things like helping with forum searches, perhaps help with the basics of fuel and tyres, money and drivers, just to try and help the enjoyment of their game. Basically all the things you had no clue about when you first started!
Id be really interested to hear from anyone who is willing to give this a trial as a coach and also from any new players that would like a coach for a little while as during the trial you can coach anyone that has raced under 17 races, after that it will be specifically for new players. (Again your discretion though as a coach)
This will start around the 28th June so plenty of time to have a think and make suggestions on improvements:-)
Its worth a go no? :-)

I have been playing now for 4 seasons, but except for a few wins, I have not succeeded in getting better than 6-12 place in the season standings. I think I could use a mentor to give me a few pointers. Who can help me?

I've been playing for 4 seasons, but I'm suck at this game (still stuck at Rookie). Usually get points per race but not enough for podiums and wins. I think a need a mentor, can some one help me ?

Hello. I've been racing for about 5 or 6 seasons and I'm stuck in a always 7 or 8th best place finish. I've tried messing with the amount of gas so that the tires and gas finish at the same time.. I've tried to limit the amount of gas hoping that less gas meant less weight and then a faster car. I've only had one podium in the 6 or 7 seasons I've raced. Any help would be appreciated.

I don't like to say things like this much, but it's not good to see, so here it is. I think using the mentor system as a chance to filter potential managers for a team that is so huge it will always be recruiting forever, and, sorry to say, might not be in some of their best interests, I think goes against the spirit of the mentoring system.

I have a lot of respect for every mentor who takes their time out in volunteering to help develop new players. It takes some time and a lot of effort. So I sincerely apologise in advance, but this needs to be said as it is a matter of principle.
I can understand that occasionally a newbie might come along who has a lot of potential and therefore we might want to add them to our own team, but we should avoid mixing team recruitment and the mentorship program.
The mentorship program should stay purely for the sake of helping out a player to develop independently, without any influence or promotion of any team.
A lot of teams put in a huge amount of effort recruiting members, so it is an unfair advantage for any team who can use the mentorship program to build a family of teams and in turn gather a vast amount of data.
Mentors should limit themselves to suggesting how to look for teams or at best informing the promising player about any vacancies in a good team (apart from our own, obviously) but no more...

agree ...but I think we need to look that no system is giving an advantage to anyone and thus hurting the game.
Agree with Luke. we need to look at data - after the mentoring period is over how many new players are going into a specific team.... recruiting new players is a common thing and nothing wrong with that .... but if the conversion of mentor seeking managers into a specific team is very high with a member of that team being mentor raises eyebrows didn't it.
in near future, it might become a certain trend or concrete path for new managers and I see this as not something good for the game.
