Hamilton won this years Italian GP at Monza with a lot of time to spare and rarely came under challenge from anyone after securing pole on Saturday.
Perez stopped late which enabled him to overtake a number of drivers after his one and only stop. After starting from 12th he showed yet again that strategy and pace are lethal when put together.
Alonso finished 3rd after storming through the field from 10th only to loose 2nd to Perez late on.
Massa earned his highest grid position for a long time and managed to cement points with a 4th place finish after missing out on hos first podium since 2012.
Other driver highlights include Maldonado's climb from 22nd to 11th. Button's challenge towards a Mclaren 1-2 until a fuel pump failure took him out of the race.
Take your pick ab please state which driver you are voting for if you choose other.

Why no Kimi on the poll he almost stole 4th on a track which his car shouldn't be any good on.

My obvious vote to Perez i think this race will be looked back at as a turning point of his career

Most of the parts on the cars change for Monza and Spa like wings and floor so no one comes to Monza with a more suitable car. It's just down to the teams to bring the right parts like Sauber did who wern't expected to have any pace.

Koba.
Nah, Checo got it for me ;)

Driver of the weekend obviously Hamilton. Checo couldn't get a good quali, so that's why I didn't pick him. Driver of the day would have been him though. :)

Where is Button and Raikkonen? and Schumacher?
|
|
|
Perez for sure, I guess if he gets the right seat he'll be a potential WC

Might as well start having all 24 drivers on the poll now then if 'other' doesnt suit people who either disnt finish the race or didnt come anywhere near winning.

Perez. Anti-hero: FIAlonso.

You can always safely omit Massa.

Perez was incredible today, Hamilton was incredible yesterday and great today. So "Driver of the Weekend" in my opinion has to be given to Hamilton.
Perez did an incredible job with a slower car, the strategy went perfect for him, but Hamilton ruled the weekend...

How was Hamilton "incredible" yesterday? Alonso's lap in Q2 with hard tyres was 0.1s slower than Hamilton's pole lap, if not car malfunction he'd easily gotten the pole. Yes, today Hamilton was mistakeless, but still, Perez is an easy choice :)

Quote ( Lukas Jonaitis @ September 9th 2012,17:18:18 ) How was Hamilton "incredible" yesterday? Alonso's lap in Q2 with hard tyres was 0.1s slower than Hamilton's pole lap, There was no difference between the tyre compounds yesterday. Pirelli usually exaggerate and are usually off the true numbers when they predict the tyre difference and for yesterday they predicted 0.3s, while there were some cars faster on the Primes than on the Options. Hamilton was incredible by getting a very impressive lap time which he even admited could have been faster. Alonso wouldn't have "easily" gotten pole, otherwise he should also have easily been able to keep up with the McLarens today...

Other is only there because 24 can't be put on a poll, just putting 4 drivers is a bit sucky, you could've easily added, Raikkonen, Schumacher, Senna and Vettel on there so the 8 best can be voted on.

Honestly, why can't there be any good polls? This is just ridiculous...
Perez gets my vote, then Hammy, Alonso 3rd for a good result from starting 10th.

May I ask what is ridiculous about it? The top 3 drivers from the race are included on it and there wern't that may other drivers who overtook as many drivers as Alonso and Perez did today. End of the day the person I see as the best driver of the weekend is the one who qualified the best and either overtook the most to get to the front or just simply lead the race from start to finish. There wern't many other drivers who did that today except from the three on the podium.

Perez, but Lewis do great job too.

Pastor Maldonado for me. He didn't jump the start, crash or take anyone off. Superb improvement.

Perez because it is driver of the weekend, not the car of the weekend

I made this whole thing based on the weekend because drivers outperform themselves in qually and you aren't able to vote for a driver that has in driver of the day because its only about the race. Doesn't matter though if you're still voting for the best driver in the race because that is the highlight of the weekend after all.

You need a wider range of people to vote for cos otherwise it verges on vote rigging. Also can we go back to driver of the day? The race is all that counts and including the weekend just confuses the issue.
