Quote ( Alexey Manukalov @ August 1st 2015,16:20:29 ) I noticed that the last time Andrian expressed his opinion about the weather being unfair resulted in a very soon win in a full wet race. So guys, time for a full wet in Yas Marina ;-) Oops! It worked again! Cool.

It might have been at 18 degrees :)

Can someone from the GPRO staff please explain how all of a sudden this season we get this kind of high average weather? I mean not only speaking about 11 guys going BROCK here, even in case thats "coincidence", but such an increase of avg temp over the last 20 seasons looks a bit odd to say the least.
Did the whole process of automatic weather selection change in any kind of way? And in case it has, was it announced anywhere or was there a selective group of top players invited into this?
I don't want to point fingers here but some kind of explanation would help as this can destroy many seasons worth of preparation and I'm sure many managers will be quite demotivated after this season.

#postoftheseason for positive and cheerful input!

Since you are kiiinda pointing fingers at people who picked BR :) I'd like to mention there were at least two good reasons before the first lap was raced why people were choosing them and neither had anything to do with hoping or knowing it'd be hot
Also the average of average race temperatures is now 27.7C (I think?), which translates to about 2 races out of 13 being 40C instead of an expected average of ~25.5. That doesn't seem so much to me. It certainly much closer to the expected value than we were after 3 races

Congrats Roland, nice strategy.

Roland, if I was on your place I would be embarrassed to say anything about problem with weather forecast. This what happens with forecasts is complete madness. Thus doing nothing good for the game

I admire Jan Pavlicek because he was the only one who picked tyres blindly and independantly... Still it proves to be in vain as he would have performed a lot better if he picked BR...
The system will always favour the older players, the more established. So no point on complaining, it will never change...

Exactly.

Not so sure about that. Jan is an excellent manager and he's done a great job this season. Weather has been favorable to BRs but competition is higher as well. It'd be a lot tougher for him to get a win for example, which, I'm fairly sure, is a good reason not to regret picking Ms.

That's not true imo. There have been lots of changes over the years (some of them quite big, some of them smaller and more subtle) and few of the older and more establshed managers are not here. Roland won his 1st title after just 4 seasons and it could've happened sooner with a bit more luck. That's a fact.
The truth is that you can't expect to come here and establish yourself instantly in the top10. You need tons of luck (and no, I'm not talking about weather), good planning, the right decisions. And ofc to pick your moments.
Sorry if I come across as judgemental but I really think it's unfair to claim things like that without experience.

Quote ( Christos Bobolis @ August 8th 2015,03:02:34 ) Sorry if I come across as judgemental but I really think it's unfair to claim things like that without experience. Witch advice: You do not need to apologize for expressing your opinion Christos, do not get others used to it because they'll behave as if you owed them something when you express yourself again... Don't be too nice :P
Enjoying the season from my comfy Master spot and following the topic, I'll comment with the impunity of an outsider and say that even I do not agree with most of Andrian believes, I do admire 3 things of him: his determination to get to Elite and having succeeded, his determination to try to stay for as long as possible, and his will to spice this topic up a bit. Unlike most of the older guys in here, he still has the "challenger" insolence and rivalry spirit :). Have to admit that, as most of the managers that at some point have stayed in Elite for some seasons, Elite got to tame me... it's a bitch :)
But I also believe he has nothing to backup his conspiranoid thinking with. Just wanted to make it clear because felt it wasn't fair to just thumb down and not say why, as the guy has his good things too ;)

I hate you.

Caro, I don't unlike older players, I respect their work, but to justify something that gives you a serious advantage over the others without merit for this is a little brazen. Sorry, that I don't believe in randoms, especially when they are too much Why I need to backup my conspiracy thinks, everyone who has a little more experience in game can see that, but maybe most of them are benefit from this, or just think it makes no sense to comment. Facts are facts, nothing more

Coming from you this is such a big, bold, empty statement to make.

Quote ( Ivan Silva @ August 8th 2015,02:07:36 ) I admire Jan Pavlicek because he was the only one who picked tyres blindly and independantly thanks for that, but I honestly can't take credit for this because Jose was the one selecting Ms as the first one, therefore I was just following the trend he set. I am not sure I picked blindly at all, that would be somewhat dangerous, but I had to pick early due to inability to sit by the computer at 18:15 for the last tyre pickers, it's not cool :)
Quote ( Christos Bobolis @ August 8th 2015,03:02:34 ) Not so sure about that. are you sure? :)
Quote ( Christos Bobolis @ August 8th 2015,03:02:34 ) It'd be a lot tougher for him to get a win for example, which, I'm fairly sure, is a good reason not to regret picking Ms. if I was on BRs, my chance of getting win would still be in place, for example last race. I made some risks in my strategy which paid off, but being on Ms I was at terrible disadvantage. There was more then 2 sec difference between Ms and BRs in the practice laps (for others even 3 sec), my last stint was short due to tyre durability and if you add to this the rain performace of BRs, Ms were totally screwed. Somewhat the scenario for almost entire season. I am very surprised not to hear any %#%@$%$$ from Borzenkov as his tyre selection was just very "unfortunate" in the end. He should receive some discount at the end of the season for sure!!!!! :)
Quote ( Andrian Naidenov @ August 8th 2015,06:56:50 ) Sorry, that I don't believe in randoms, especially when they are too much it's very difficult to judge as none of us know how the script works. I was having somewhat too many randoms last several seasons, so I had to set up a special thread on our team forum to ^*$^$^$& about it. It actually helps, you should try this as well .... let me know how it went for you :)

Thank you for the recommendation, but I do not think that will have an effect because the people with whom I share opinions about the game, not very far from what I think about what is happening with forecasts

I expect lots of strategies tonight. Gonna be a fascinating race!

No mercy from GPRO weather script today...

Quote ( Ivan Silva @ August 14th 2015,18:45:17 ) Impressive Fred, congratz!! When was the last time D's got a pole in elite? Looks like never. A few came close back when everyone was using BYs (see S35). Would have been nice to see Freddy 'Dunno Master' Neves take the win, glad I wasn't the one to deny him in the end :)
Grats to Zdenek though, really didn't see that coming even a few laps from the end

Quote ( Florencia Caro @ August 14th 2015,22:55:53 ) Where's the conspiracy theory Andrian? :P It is not a theory but a reality. Caro, it is seems that is hard to you seeing the obvious things, or you just do not see them because it is so comfortable to you. Suppose you just do not see them and for that, I, like a your good friend will explain you. Each race with temeperatures over 30 degrees are in favor of bridge. The only competitors at this temperature are Conti, but when there is rain, they remain without any competition. Now let herself count how many races have this season with these conditions, so you do not need my help for this :)
