It's not about quantity when it comes to football..Good examples to prove that quality wins are Slovenia and Uruguay both less than 3.5mil. population..

Yes, but Slovenia and Uruguay has warmer climate than Finland have. We have several months that ground is covered by snow, playing football isn't possible (maybe indoors, but that's not same). Slovenia and Uruguay has both possibility for longer training season, our training season is only from spring to autumn.

What about Russia?
There isn't much difference with Finland 'xept the population..Pitches are the same even though some of russian teams play on artificial grass(e.g Cska)..Anyway what I'm trying to say is that not much interes is given to football in Finland..

Yeah it's not about winter but that other sports eat resources and players here... Do they have any other big sports in Uruguay? Or in Slovenia? Of course the results would be better if there was only football, football and football, the same can be said about Canada and USA too...
Something like occasional World Cup visits is possible here, but being a top team... no way.
Different story if you didn't specify that the gender is male :P

well Russia is STRONG, but for WC a lot of factors plays! They have great players. I wouldn't want them in our group in EURO 2012...
Spain was investing for decades and FINALLY they got themselves a generation that WON them a World cup.
Netherlands still didn't do it (only 1988 European champions).
USA are trying hard to make through quarter finals.
so many nations play football!
it's most popular game on the planet, that's why it's so difficult :o

Slovenia did a small miracle kicking Russia out and they aren't going to do it again for some years IMO (on WC). On EURO maybe?
Watch for Bosnia in next qualifications for EURO!

I guess the one thing I am happy with over everything else in this tournament is the fact that the two best teams from the tournament played in the final, with the exception of Germany who were outstanding in every game forgetting the Serbia defeat, every team suffered a defeat at some point apart from New Zealand.
I bet if you asked every Holland player before the tournament what would they prefer, they would have chosen to lose their first game like Spain providing it meant they got to the final, rather than the final being the only game they lost :(
I can't see where all this negative press for Howard Webb has come from, I thought other than two offside decisions he got wrong and the fact that he just wouldn't bring out the red card early enough he had a wonderful game and that is genuinely my only criticism. If he had done that soon enough then maybe that would have been enough of a warning to the rest of the players and they would have calmed down....
In fact Webb was the only decent contribution from the English throughout the whole tournament, every game I watched that he was in charge of was generally well refereed.

I heard Van Marwijk saying Webb lost them the game (which is utter shite), but like many others have said before me in this thread, Holland lost themselves the game by not contributing fully in a footballing sense.
Holland could have won the bloody game after all, if Robben hadn't shagged his two chances up the wall. It would have been an in-justice in my eyes if they had won, but they didn't and karma quickly took control.....
Still the proof was in the pudding that yet again the European teams have shown they are the dominant force in football currently, with the exception of Uruguay who had in my eyes an outstanding tournament. Teams like Argentina, Brazil, Mexico etc etc, really need to up the ante and learn how to defend if they are to have a shout at the next world cup, otherwise I can see this current crop of young Spanish players dominating not only European football for the imminent future, but World football too.
Oh and one more thing why would the Dutch have their team flown down by two fighter jets and then whisked away from the public to an organised press conference, on their arrival back home after such a relatively successful tournament. Out of embarrassment I should think. Any other team touching down back on home soil after reaching the final of the World Cup would have caused some celebration and most certainly would have been greeted by thousands of adoring fans....
