One wonders if the rule that applies to the person who wins (i.e. they can't compete in the next season) should also be applied to anyone else who refuses to host...?
Controversial perhaps, but you would avoid situations like this. Most people prefer playing to hosting (if not all), so that would mix things up a bit. Also might shake up who wins a bit more :P

Lol no, just the fact that if 1st place refuses to host, then 2nd place has the choice of host or sit out etc. etc. People might not turn down hosting as easily if they knew it meant they couldn't take part next time...

It's the same decision that 1st place has to take? Either host or don't participate at all - so the precedent already exists...it's just passing it on to the next player as well.

But that rule exists to have different winners (at least once per 2 seasons), not to force the winner to host.

Yep I'm aware of the reason for it - but there are people who have hosted before, who are now turning it down and saying they don't have time to do it...yet as Ivelin has pointed out, they will happily play the game and spend the time lurking and waiting for races.
Was just trying to think of a way to avoid that...and perhaps people would have a different attitude to hosting if the choice wasn't 'host or play' but was 'host or miss out'.
Open to other ideas ofc - but I can understand Ivelin's frustration tbh.

I hosted the game 2 times and both times it was a nigthmare.
Are you sure you want me to host a 3rd time?
I never said it was not because I don't have the time. Because I probably do.

Well yes and no - in one sense, no of course not. However, it does happen more and more often that people are happy to give time to play and not host. Pretty rubbish for those of us who try each season and get beaten by the same people each time, who likely should be doing more hosting than they currently do.
Also a bit unfair for those who do end up hosting, as they are having less fun (not saying no fun, but it's usually less fun to host something than to play it) than those who have said they don't have time to host - but then do have time to play the following season.
Just saying that the system right now is open to abuse, as if you are a top player you can just keep putting time towards playing without taking your fair turn at hosting (as the system is supposed to allow for).

And yes i will be doing it decently.
Expect news in some time, I already have a fun idea for the theme, all I need is to build the calendar.

When i wrote that i could host next season, the previous ones above me had refused (and you Ricardo of course).
Now if finaly want to host this, it's all yours.
But try next time wrote something that will be valid and not every day change your decision.
So we are waiting you @Ricardo Antunes (A28) next season host the game, thanks.

Nah Mike, I refused to host the first time so I lost that priority.
I will only host if you dont want to anymore.
It seems we have reached a tricky situation :P i'll wait like one 2 days for you to answer, if not ill just go ahead ;)

when i last look here, there were no-host/game's doom stuation around but now we have multiple hosts candidates in acticon to be the real host :P

I don't mind hosting btw, it didn't get to me though. :)
My point is that people who are here and are able to score 150+ points suddenly don't have time anymore after winning. Yes I get hosting could be boring, but it's a responsibility. It was very rare before that the winner wasn't hosting the next season. Now it's become normal.
I can tell you that if I ever win again, I will 100% host the next season.

As for the co-hosting, my point is that we lose a player for no reason other than "I only play with this guy in a team, I won't play with anybody else".
