Began in Season 33, race 3. Benoit Abadie was my driver and earned an extension with some good driving enabling me to score multiple low points finishes, picking up 17 points for a Championship finish of 13th it was a good start for our team. The highlight was the final race of the season as we engaged in a battle at the front, looking like we could pick up a shock win we were denied by 2 random events leaving us to trail in a disappointed 5th. Still, it gives us optimism for Season 34.

Season 34 was a case of missed opportunities, many randoms from race 1 and a driver who just couldn't get to grips with the very mixed weather conditions saw me finish 6th R20, at least I managed to gain 3 podiums and multiple points scoring races when things went as expected. Sadly I came to the conclusion that Abadie wasn't going to be consistent enough for me, so we parted ways just before the end of the season. My new driver Vitor Perera is a little raw, but has great promise. Last race of the season saw a fitting ending as 2 randoms & a part failure (unexpected) saw an encouragingly strong performance peter out. 43 points was the final tally, a sum I'll hope to eclipse in Season 35.

Didn't quite work out like that, Perera was an also-ran for most of the season excepting a 7th place finish at his favorite track. For some time that looked like it might be all he'd get, but intensive training saw him rise through the field, an aggressive development strategy helped and he was able to roll off several points finishes & even a surprise podium. However as his contract was due to expire Perera got delusions of grandeur and decided he was too good for Rookie & refused to negotiate. We parted ways 3 races prior to the end of the season. Stepping into the breach was the older brother of my 1st driver, Eric Abadie had been out of the cockpit for some time, but put in some professional drives for me culminating in a podium to round off the season. 35 points & 7th in R20 was our final tally with questions over our future approach to be answered.

Season 37 was a disaster, slow from the opening race in a new group it became apparent Abadie wanted only a diet of pies, with no improvement looking likely a sheepish Perera returned to see out the season. He pulled the team up a bit, and as other teams ran into financial difficulty a possible run for promotion came into focus. Right up until the final race we were closing in, till a random failure cost us the necessary points and opportunity slipped away. For season 38 it's another new driver and a new group. Time to refocus and get the right results!

Oh the joys of a successful season! Pleasantly surprised to attract a good caliber driver, initial results didn't reflect the actual pace as randoms and bad luck kept us down in the lower points, fairly soon it became clear though that even though the title was clearly out of reach, a solid set of results could see promotion. Well, we eclipsed that as towards the end we became a contender every race, eventually we managed to turn an inspired tire choice into a maiden victory and to prove that was no fluke it was swiftly followed by wins 2 & 3. Had we not decided to wind down development more success was there to be had, but having clinched a deserved 3rd in the chase, it was time to factor in the planning for a higher level. Thoughts for the coming season will be focused on steady improvement and hopefully setting a base for further progress.

Well that worked... just! Found myself in AM32 and quickly sussed several teams were far advanced so quickly worked out that points would very definitely be at a premium. Steadiness was the byword for the season as I slowly found myself consistently in the 16-20th range, not enough to keep me up. The savior was based on fav tracks near the end of the season, having twice been denied sufficiently good results by "randoms" I almost lost faith, but getting a top 10 finish pulled me outside the zone, never to return. The budgetary plan worked well and in the final race I took advantage of others easing off and I slotted in a deserved points finish, made my 100th GP a great occasion. Next season will be more consolidation I think, hopefully without leaving it quite so long to get safe!

Yes, that was the story of Season 39, made some progress towards the end of the season and with a few tweaks I may be ready for another competitive battle near the front of some races. Grabbed 3 points finishes, even led a couple of races on merit and with consistent Q & races it was precisely the season predicted. On to Season 40 :)
