Both CBs have been linked away this summer but both committed themselves publicly but who knows it could have changed something even if it is very small. Agger as BR said is one of the best defenders for his system, one of the best passing CBs you'll find in the PL.
Arsenal haven't added at all to their defence and sold Song who was the only guy people would say could be the midfield shield for the back 4. Something has just clicked with them at the back which is what hasn't happened at Liverpool for a few years.

Quote ( Steven Tindle @ September 2nd 2012,23:12:30 ) Something has just clicked with them at the back which is what hasn't happened at Liverpool for a few years. It's called Diaby and most of all Arteta..they are covering up the hole that Song left. Though, I prefer Coscielny over Mertesacker..he nearly gave Liverpool a goal (or two) today.
And when Sagna comes back..no more problems on the right back. Jenkinson is not for the Premier League football.
And in front, it seems to me that Giroud is somehow excluded by the others..probably because they are already tired of his misses..:P

I just saw the replay of match of Manchester United. I loléd.
Calling Van Persie like he did something is funny. First goal of RVP, pure luck the defender of Southampton fall down and RVP just has to shoot witha clear view. He try to do the smartass and gets ashamed with that Pirlo style penalty. What a disgrace :D He scores his 2nd goal 2 feets away from the goal line and still thanks to Ferdinand header and post. Only his 3rd goal was something valuable this match. It was a fantastic header by him.
I dont see Manchester a contender tbh. My vote goes toCity this season and Chelsea.

You are funny lol

Quote ( Samoeni Albanalopolis @ September 3rd 2012,09:28:18 ) Calling Van Persie like he did something is funny. He`s a striker ffs, he`s supposed to score, and he just scored a hattrick yesterday. If Juventus had signed him, you`d be all over the moon.

So a Rooney and RVP partnership doesnt make you think Utd are contenders? How can having two 30 goal strikers not be a title winning factor?

Do you actually understand the retardedness of this statement?

Nope....its a clear indication that he believes that Swansea City will win the league. ;p (The mere thought of him referring to Norwich City is a little bit too much for me to even believe).

Newport County are going to win the league :)

Well, I was the one who said Chelsea will win Champions League and everyone laughed. Time to see who will win EPL this time and that clearly wont be ManU.
Give them two RVP if you want. You are funny fans indeed. He scores a hattrick and everyone goes nuts. What the hell people, be objective.
EDIT: And dont forget how Everton, beat (rapped) you completely. That's the team who will win EPL you think? Yeah, Im having a good laugh.

Point well and truly missed.

Everybody knows that Everton are notoriously hard to beat at Goodison Park.

Who the f*** cares mate?
Beat them? Okay maybe is hard but you're missing something here. Everton overplayed ManU, and I mean they killed ManU. That match could have ended 4-0 even.

Looks like Samoeni's opinion is about as popular as the US version of The Inbetweeners. If anyone has rapped anything lately it's the awful people who created that.

I like Chelsea nothing, I dont give a shit about Chelsea if they lose. I am a bloody Juventus fan since 5 years old. But the Blues are the team I like in EPL.Quote ( Jack Wemyss @ September 3rd 2012,13:57:02 ) Looks like Samoeni's opinion is about as popular as the US version of The Inbetweeners. Juventus fan jealous of not getting RVP???

Samoeni, it's a long, long season. Utd have never had good starts, twice I have taken pictures of them being in the bottom half of the table early in the season, once in the relegation zone, and both times they have won the league. Just because Utd lost to Everton, that doesn't mean they won't be title contenders. Here are a couple of examples:
Chelsea lost 5-3 to Arsenal last season. Man Utd beat Arsenal 8-2 last season, with a younger average age than Arsenal had on the pitch (and Wenger has been known to buy players with potential, especially of fairly recent times). Man Utd lost to Man City 6-1 last season. Man City won the league in Fergie time, thanks to a last minute goal by Aguero, and they just managed to win the league against the team that they beat 6-1 earlier in the season. Also, the team that won the Champions League, the team that I support, got beat by a fair margin to the team that lost 8-2 to Utd who lost 6-1 to City. That should mean City were mountainous times better than Chelsea... however they won and lost against each other. Also in the 5-3 defeat to Arsenal, van Persie scored a hat-trick, like yesterday.
You don't judge teams on a couple of performances to say that they are contenders or not, if you do that then Swansea and West Brom will join Chelsea in Europe. Hardly going to see that happen (sorry Winkley). Now I'm a big Chelsea fan, but I can't see us winning the league, especially after the heavy defeat to Madrid during the week which was a deserved loss, gives Chelsea a wake up call. Utd and City going up for the title this season again, scraps for third place.

Quote ( Shoaib Mohamed @ September 3rd 2012,09:33:01 ) The same city which look massively vulnerable in defense? And United are solid in defense you mean?

All I know is QPR will finish 13th! Mark my words. Come May we will be 13th!

Quote ( Steven Tindle @ September 3rd 2012,15:08:59 ) Juventus fan jealous of not getting RVP??? Ofc it would be nice to see him at us playing but our coach is banned for 10 months and the team is being lead by his assistant. Im not jealous, but I dont find ManU so good. Their defense has serious issues imo. I admire ManU dont get me wrong but I just dont see them winning the EPL. Chelsea in the other hand got a good start and a lose against Atletico wont change things much imo.Quote ( Joe Manifold @ September 3rd 2012,15:22:25 ) Now I'm a big Chelsea fan, but I can't see us winning the league, especially after the heavy defeat to Madrid during the week which was a deserved loss, gives Chelsea a wake up call. Im not saying Chelsea will win it 100% sure, but Im confident Chelsea will recover and make a good team and every match they will get better and better.
Still it's early to talk. The season will be interesting for sure.

No need to apologise Joe...even I know that we won't be in the same quarter of the table as any of the above mentioned teams. The league has grown in competitiveness over recent years, though the standard at the top has dropped too. The most deserving team will win the league, yet they'll have some really poor results along the way. Bragging rights only last until the next meeting between any two sides.

A Liverpool fan just said to me, "uniteds new home kit looks just like a tablecloth" I replied "I suppose you can spot that from the bottom of the table"

David Bentley has joined Russian Premier League side FC Rostov on loan until January

Dwight Tiendalli joined Swansea City as a free agent. Released by FC Twente at the end of last season. Laudrup bringing in cover for the injured Neil Taylor. Can't say I know much about the guy, so feel free to fill in the gaps in my knowledge.
|
|

Tiendalli is basically George Elokobi.

1. He Cheats.... The ball was going to hit him in the face, he was defending himself...
