Suggestion:
Mailbox - the possibility to send a Team Message, to a team that is not our own.

That might be possible but doubt it would be free to use.

Quote ( António Pereira @ May 1st 2015,19:22:11 ) Mailbox - the possibility to send a Team Message, to a team that is not our own. I would have liked a "visitors box" on team profiles so you could post in that. :D I would not abuse this facility at all !

Quote ( Niels Wolters @ May 1st 2015,19:35:08 ) What a GPRO-facebook, please no :P Not at all. I just think it would be nice to be able to congratulate teams on their achievments etc. I would also give the team leader the ability to delete/report unwanted messages.

Well actually all that is already possible.
You can congratulate the team by sending the teamleader a pm, and (s)he forward them to the team. Also (s)he can delete/report unwanted messages.
So actually you're not suggesting the ability to congratulate the team, since that possibility already exists. It's more about the ability to publish the fact that you have congratulated them.
Might be noted that I'm not saying that it would be wrong (in certain situations) to promote yourself, just saying "let's call things as they are".
It's not about congratulating others, it's about asserting attention to yourself

It's not about congratulating others, it's about asserting attention to yourself Says the guy with over 9000 forum posts. Its just a suggestion at the end of the day, If you dont like it then thats cool by me. :) I just thought it was a way of bringing the community a bit closer together. For the record I dont need to "promote" myself any more than the next guy, which is why I dont post that much these days...."yeah yeah probably a good thing..I know, I know"

I don't dislike it. Never said that.
Granted I'm not for it either.
All I'm saying is that a public "box" like that can also have self-centered motives.

No more so than these forums, granted there are people who post just for the sake of it...Hey I may even have done that once or twice myself. :P I personally feel as we stand right now the forums/manager interaction is pretty poor, I want to get back to the old days where there were loads of people posting, plenty of stuff to read and laugh at. I see very little of this of late.

Not necessarily.
That being said, the growing does present it's challenges.
To put it in same metaphor, You can have village feeling in suburbs of big apple.
And in the same way, you can have the "plenty to read and laugh", but those things need to be in their place (=thread).

I think mods have an almost impossible job of letting it stay fun, but limiting the bitching. A very fine line. Though sometimes they are crap at it :P I think maybe its got a little too strict lately, but that's mostly due to people being crappy if a rule is broken so forcing someone to step in.
I hope it relaxes a little again and more fun can be had without too much offense caused

The thing is... as I see it.
The (let's call it) the good ol' days to what there was a reference to...
In a smaller group there is the possibility to be more lenient towards "dickin' about" anywhere on the forums, mainly because the amount of the "clowns" (positive meaning) is relatively low.
When the group grows, there is a need to limit the "dickin' about" on certain parts of the forum, one reason being that the amount of "clowns" increases, thus the potential of making certain threads useless.
Where it goes wrong then ? Well when "the clown" is told that you can't "dick about" here, (s)he might think: Oh, it's not allowed at all.

The thing is to realize that there are parts of the forum where it is prudent to be strict and parts where more lenient approach is the way to go.
The second "the clowns" realize that is the second when the job of mods become easier and also the time when things get better.

:)
Or maybe just use common sense.
ask yourself: "Does the following quote suite to":
Newbie forum Suggestions forum Mentor forum Bug forum
Put the incompetent twat on gardening leave. (just a randomly selected quote from forum, no intention to single out the writer)
It should not be too hard question, but in case it is then answer: Does not suite to any of those.
so... you could imagine the "no dickin' about icon" on those parts of the forum :)

You are joking, right?
Obviously I can see "all the evidence" as oppose to a regular forum user, but I'm genuinely surprised that anyone would think that as, from where I'm sitting, if anything, it's quite the opposite (although I personally believe it's more in the "quite right" region, most of the time). :/

Mikko, selective quoting is scummy.
Edit: Hmmm. That was the entire quote. It was on topic though.

I would like to see the division each sponsor is from in your active negotiations. I currently have neg's from Am/Pro/Master but have to play around with the URL to find out were I picked them up

#Suggestion/Question
Why can't I see the green F which means 'Favourite Track' in the Qualifying 1 & 2 Standings page? It would make sense to me as we can find out through the Staff page anyways and it makes the life of people easier. Shouldn't be too hard to implement as well as it's also on that other page.

And tyres added to /gb/QualifyStats.asp would be nice too.
Possibly more changes in tyre from season to season: both in price as in other stats? Could be based on last season's distribution?
For example: very popular tyres increase in price, unpopular ones decrease (normal market behavior)?
|
|
|
Would we be able to get team over view lit up green when team members qualify?
Just like Q1&2 standings?

Yes I asked this some time ago, but we never know if admins even looked at it, as they stay silent. IMO drop the flag (nationality) and put in Tyre supplier

Great idea...
Quote ( Jes Roth @ February 18th 2015,04:59:20 ) When someone in my group qualifies, the 'qualifying 1&2 standings' link turns yellow.
Could the 'team overview' link turn yellow after each one of my teammates qualifies?

In reference to the current situation. I have noticed while I have been back in rookie well this race. 4 players drop out of the race, I take it due to worn parts or the elusive "random"
If the 90% rule does not include wookies, why not let them carry on in the race rather than end it early and let them sit in the pits.
This would piss me off if I had just come to the game. I know looking after parts is a big part of the game, however surely a noob in wookie would be better smoking all race is better than sitting at the side of the track and the new player shutting the page down and maybe not coming back.

Due to my current situation, I got an idea, and would much appreciate all your thoughts about it:
What if, at some point of the season, we could get the sponsor money for 1 race in advance? This would be possible only 1 time per season, and if by the end of the race the money you earn is not enough to cover the debt, you get a penalty (beside the obvious lost of sponsors)?
I explain: Last race, I intended a designated amount of money, to invest in driver, car, tests, etc. However, due to a lack of some 5L of fuel, I had to extra pit 2 times, and lost some positions (about 10!), ruining my intent...
I know I should be a better racing manager, but I think this idea could work...
And this could help many of us, in case of an "unexpected random" :-)

You already have GPRO credit (ability to go negative) why would you need this money for?
