i am rookie, and so addicted to the game already
but can’t understand why my Q2 lap is about 4 seconds slower than my race lap
basically the same amount of fuel and it’s Qualifying for crying out loud

and i am asking for 2 simple reason

the first i achieved the pole position, then i am not doing anything wrong
secondly, i was trying to calculate the raining time based on my Last Q2 lap
and got it completely wrong

can anyone help me to understand

toni

Hi Toni
It may be your setup that obviously is different in dry and wet conditions or the fuel load you are using in Q2.

Toni, your actual race strategies may also be different for others. Also bear in mind that different driver skills also have a bearing in a total race, among other things as well.

Why don´t you try to find a mentor to join a team? It will clear these basic problems pretty quick.

Unfortunately Toni has 6 seasons experience and is already in a team so he is not eligible for private mentoring.

thank you for answering, it will only make sense if my Q2 lap is faster than race laps
but it is the opposite and it will really help to know if you have the same issue
like last race temperatures Q2 35 and few first laps 35 as well
and 3 seconds different my set up slightly different-+20 and i was pushing like 25 ( CTR )

Only as far as the "official mentor program" goes. There's nothing preventing him from finding a friendly experienced manager outside of the mentor program to give some hints or tips

It's known to happen :)

There's a couple of possibilities if I understand your question correctly:
1. Your driver made a mistake in qualifying.
2. There was a setup issue in Q2
3. The wrong tyres were used in Q2 by mistake

Might be other options, but that's what I can think of. Not every driver can handle qualifying equally well, especially with risk taking involved.

thijs thank you , unfortunately non of the reason you suggested

and it is constantly happening , as i went back to history check
this last race i have 200 experience for the driver push car a little
( ctr ) 24
the temperature was exactly the same between Q2 and the first few laps ((35 ))
my set up for the very much the same -+20 on suspension
and the difference is 3 seconds in favor of race lap
it will extremely help if you can tell me if you have the same data different or it’s just me and i need to search for more information

I don't have this issue. I think you shouldn't dismiss the driver mistake option here.

I've checked out a couple of your drivers and they're definitely missing something.

Toni, I just did a quick check for every Q2 lap against every Race lap 2 I made where Q2 was slower than lap 2:

Rookie 34 out of 37, average 2.759 sec
Amateur 78 out of 100, average 1.835
Pro 37 out of 102, average 1.393
Master 5 out of 34, average 0.394

So it is definitely not uncommon but by the looks of it also something from the simulation and not worth digging into. I honestly never noticed but don't feel I missed something ;)

Toni; just want to check you’re not looking at lap 1 times? They are slower because of the standing start, plus half a second per grid spot behind pole.

I checked my times for the last race, Q2 was 1:24, lap 1 was 1:29, but from lap 2 I was into 1:23’s and 1:24’s consistently.
