I will keep editing this post with the updates FYI...if you are online while I'm doing this, keep refreshing. If you are reading this more than about 10 minutes after the post was made, then read on for what happened in the Penalty shoot-out...!
Belgium scraped into this Penalty shoot-out, and maybe that's why Captain Hazard looks a little uncertain...and blazes his kick wide! Messi steps up and - as usual - converts his shot with the minimum of fuss to Courtois' left.
The 2nd round of penalties are both converted with ease - Lukaku powering a shot into the roof of the net that gives Armani no chance, while Pereyra slides a pass into the bottom right-hand corner of the net to keep Argentina ahead...
Tielemans looks calm and composed as he side-foots his penalty into the net...but Lo Celso looks anything but as he plays it right into the waiting arms of Courtois to keep things level at 2-2!
The youngster Verschaeren is next up for Belgium - and he clearly lets the pressure of the occasion gets to him, as he blazed it far over the net to hand the advantage to Argentina, which Otamendi uses all his experience to take with a powerful strike into the top right-hand corner of the net. That means if either Belgium miss or Argentina score the final penalty, it will be Argentina heading to the World Cup Finals...
...and it's de Bruyne, who has had a great game for Belgium without being on the score-sheet. He steadies himself, runs up and hits it hard and true to the bottom-left hand corner...AND ARMANI SAVES IT!!! Incredible agility from the goalkeeper to get down that quickly - and that seals the victory. Argentina will be going to the World Cup Finals!!!
Meanwhile Belgium must settle for a place in the Silver Path Final vs Italy...

Don't know if this little football game is big enough to act as a tribute for a footballer of his calibre - but for what it's worth, I'm glad to see Argentina qualify for this World Cup regardless.

Champions League Semi Final Results & Final
In the 1st Semi-Final, Ajax look like the famous team of old as they brush aside RB Leipzig, who manage to score two late goals - but the winners were never in doubt, as Ajax reach their 1st European Final since 2017 and their 1st Champions League Final since 1996, though they will doubtless be hoping that this final ends rather better for them than both of those did...!
In the 2nd Semi-Final, a far closer affair between the two German sides sees a shock result as Bayer Leverkusen manage to score a last minute winner to despatch Borussia Dortmund and earn themselves the title as the best German team in the Champions League. They will hope to go one better and add Champions League winners to their list of titles...and they too will be hoping for a better performance in their last final in 2002!

Injury - Sandro (Juventus/Brazil*)
* @Igor Augusto (M5) Unfortunately this is the 3rd Brazilian non-squad player to pick up an injury, so this means one of your team is now injured. In even worse news I'm afraid the completely Random draw meant that it is Neymar who has been injured.
As usual you now have until you submit the 1st half of your next match to send me the name of the player to replace him - if you don't send anything before submitting you will lose 3 points to your top category, though if you do send a new valid player name in time then that penalty will be reduced to just 1 point.

Europa League Semi-Final Results & Final
Club Brugge look unstoppable so far in this tournament, with their latest victims being APOEL Nicosia (who can at least reflect on their best European run ever!) by a 3-1 scoreline, which sees Brugge into their 3rd European Final ever...the first two were in 1976 and 1978 and they lost both to an English side, and wait until you see who they are playing...
...of course it is Wolverhampton Wanderers, who brush aside FC Copenhagen by 5 goals to 1 to set up their first European Final since 1972 (where they lost to Spurs). As such, either way we will have a new European Champion once this final is completed!!!

A League Finals Round-Up - Final and 3rd/4th Place Play-Off Stage
Two teams seek redemption in their respective last matches in the A League Finals competition - first of all @Tom Byrne (R101)'s Australia will look to put up more of a fight in the 3rd/4th Place Play-Off than they managed last season vs Colombia...though this time have the relatively unknown Senegalese side to take on, in what looks to be an entertaining contest.
Though most of the attention is on the Final, where two old adversaries do battle once more - as @Alan Halford (A39)'s England take on @Tim Wagner (P6)'s Germany, with the Germans looking to make up for their exhilarating and narrow 7-6 loss to France last time out. This time they are the favourites though, with England untried at an international tournament Final since 1966...

World Cup Qualifying Round-Up
Silver Qualifying Path - Play-Off Final
After losing out to Argentina by the narrowest of margins in a penalty shoot-out, Belgium look a depleted side and must try to lift themselves to take on @Quentin Rieg (A52)'s Italy with 1 last World Cup Finals spot available...and the Belgians must try to do that with injury concerns within the squad as well!

Blue Qualifying Path - Play-Off Final
In arguably the most eagerly anticipated match in all of the Qualifying tournaments for this World Cup, @Chew Kai Wen (P20)'s Singapore will square off against World Cup Champions Hungary, with manager @Bálint Turi-Kováts (R57) looking to be able to at least defend the title they won so impressively last time around...

Orange Qualifying Path - Final
There are 3 World Cup Final spots up for grabs in 3 winner-takes all matches; first of all @Andrei Ciuchi (Ret)'s Luxembourg are looking to reach the World Cup for the first time ever and will take on @Jun Ho (A78)'s Hong Kong side, who are equally determined to make that step up this time around.
Next up we have @Adrian Popa (R131)'s Serbia, who have recovered well from their shock exit out of the main Silver Qualifying Path group stage to make their way to this final - and their reward is to take on a South Korean side, who have failed to particularly impress in reaching the same stage.
Finally, arguably the closest of these finals sees @Kyle Morris (M5)'s Liechtenstein host @Alex Melzer (R95)'s Canadian side, with both sides looking to make the finals - in Canada's case it would be their first finals since 1986, while for Liechtenstein it would be their first ever World Cup Finals tournament!

Lower League BOT Round-Up - Matchday 12 (FINALS)
UEFA
In a spirited effort by Andorra in the UEFA North/West Play-Off Final, they do manage to score first against Norway - but the Norwegians battle back to hold onto their Nations League place after a season they will surely like to forget sooner rather than later!
Meanwhile in the UEFA Central Play-Off Final, a real shock - as tiny Malta manage to overcome Lithuania by a single goal to secure a place in the Nations League for the 1st time in their history! An incredible performance by a team that did not even make the Lower League Group Stage last season...though for Lithuania they will now need to rebuild if they are to reclaim their Nations League place in future.
Finally, in the UEFA South/West Play-Off Final, it is Armenia that sweep aside Georgia and make up for the disappointment of not reaching any of the Play-Off Finals last season!
Americas
El Salvador come out top against Panama, as they justify their higher ranking to usurp Panama and claim a spot in the Nations League Final!
Asia
@Shannon Fuerte (R60)'s Sri Lanka contest their Play-Off Final against Syria, who were woeful in the Nations League this season and must hope for a miracle if they are to compete with this rampant Sri Lankan side that are averaging around 5 goals per game!!!
Africa
Kenya will take on Guinea under the watchful eyes of @Matthew Coldhill-smink (R51), as he looks to take his Harambee Stars to the Nations League for the 1st time in their history - an incredible feat when you consider that last season Kenya were knocked out in the 1st Qualifying Round by Lesotho!!!

I’m averaging 5 goals a game? Wooooow.
Also as a suggestion, national teams who dont have any team members within the club competitions should be able to nominate a certain amount of players to go into a club. Give a bit more of an evolutionary feel to the clubs and reflects how well each national team is doing.

There is already a team of players made up of national teams that are eligible to be injured - however this is deliberately far less to counteract the ranking advantage that the higher up teams started with.
However, I will review this as part of Season 5 if those rankings are no longer similar.
