As you know if you are not a supporter and you have a puncture you don't know during the race as the puncture is reported in the commentary which isn't available to non-supporters. So you either have to have a supporter friend check for you or wait until the replay/race analysis.

Would it be possible then to have the car in the pits with one tire obviously obliterated so non-supporters know what happened straight away?

I realize it's a purely cosmetic change, but it might stop some head-scratching and frustration among some managers?

I got a puncture last race on lap 26. There was nothing indicating I had a puncture and only got the information when a teammate checked the commentary. It was shown as a regular pitstop

Stef isn't that only if they retire with a puncture? If they pit with a puncture nothing changes. See my team mate Martin's pit stop here...

edit: I realize reading the OP I wasn't totally clear, I'm talking about pitting with a puncture, not retiring with a puncture.

Here's the retired with a puncture graphic

So could we incorporate that look into the tire puncture pitstop?

What about a tyre blister? It's pretty much functionally the same as a pitable puncture, just with a different name. But the rim graphic wouldn't really fit

Then maybe new graphic with a blown tyre? But it isn't that random what we see in every race, it's pretty rare.

I guess it could be done. It just an extra layer which can be covering the normal pit image, the same way raintyres are superimposed over the normal tyres. It will not show up for special livery sets (old school one image fits one condition - used for 6-wheeler and some special personal liveries. ).

I thought this is what you meant. Imo, the best solution would be having the tyre puncture animation but have it as a pitstop rather than the car on the jacks; a tyre missing, with the crew round the car for the pitstop.

I guess I needed to get more punctures to see how it looks like. I have 2 punctures in a row now, the first one with pit-stop and the last one by retiring. I understand how it looks like now, so no more punctures please. :p kthxbye
