Course legend | ||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
This unique track in Poland has been build in the middle of 70’s by the Polish Factory of Agricultural Cars "Polmo" under a pretense of testing Tarpan (now known as Honker) car. Even though the investment had a silent approval of the local authorities it had no official permit. The main designer was Roman Jankowski, but the whole project would not be possible without the help of large group of people led by Adam Smorawinski. The creators were seriously thinking about making this track suitable for the Formula 1 racing and in the result they took the plans of the planned investment to Zandvoort, where during the Formula 1 Grand Prix they showed it to Bernie Ecclestone. Soon after this presentation, a special committee arrived from London to see by themselves the possible future F1 track. One of the results of this visit is a characteristic viaduct over the track. Unfortunately the project of introducing Formula 1 to Poland has been canceled, but the track remained as the main place for the numerous motorsports events in Poland. The unofficial track record (1:14s) has been set on 04.21.2007 by Marc Gene driving a Ferrari F1. The track contains 14 turns (5 left and 9 right), the longest straight is 560m and the whole track length is 4,083km. |
