be respected and nurtured and I for one object to the use of the term.

Probably you are no longer a newby when you know the ins and outs about the game. The few that do have most likely at least managed to stay in master or elite a few seasons.

I still feel like a newby, though I have a decent basic grasp of the game, there are still lots of mistakes I'm making in choices like tyres, testing and sometimes qualification risks.

Telling someone FOBY is downright rude in my opinion. That still feels like the most demotivation thing to say to anyone who has just started. If someone has nothing better to say then FOBY, they should just not say anything, because that makes rookies running away from GPRO.

You're only a noob in someone else's eye usually because they know something you don't. Pretty stupid term that is overused now, came from games like Runescape I think when the game actually classed you as a newbie during the tutorial. That's where I first encountered the word anyway...

When they come from another game and already know the fundamentals of manager games. Then you can expect them to fly up the rankings. Two notable names (IMO) in this case are Neil Vaughn ([Blacklisted]) & RM Jones (GP manager pro).

Also, if you're Sion and have such a high level of intelligence :P

Newbie, newb, n00b or noob is a slang term for a novice or newcomer, or somebody inexperienced in any profession or activity. Contemporary use can particularly refer to a beginner or new user of computers, often concerning Internet activity, such as online gaming[1] or Linux use.[2][3] It can have derogatory connotations, but is also often used for descriptive purposes only, without a value judgment.
