After winning the Elite title, at least twice, in succession.
after you reach elite, so the majority of gpro players are NOOBS!
Tsk, with that thread title I was expecting an amusing joke.
It's impossible to put a time frame on it as some people learnquicker than others.
I'd say after 10 seasons, no matter if he'd made it to elite already.
I think 2 complete seasons, but that depends from person to person I think. And depends also on what you think about being a newbie...
Newbie is as Newbie does.
If you need to ask you are still a newbie ;)
It is a up to a player to decide for himself.
Newbies (sic) are the lifeblood of the game, They should be respected and nurtured and I for one object to the use of the term. Rookie is fine.
Once they understand the game :P
Some understand in rookie, some in ama... others just quit :D
The moment you start replying to others with ''FOBY'' :)
oh and when you figure out how the weather system works

And I thought I wasn't a newbie :(
In fact, if this is true, is anyone not a newbie? :)

when you mostly know in advance what and why you're doing what you're doing and what the outcome is supposed to be.
You can be a 20 season newbie or 5 race non-newbie =)
Probably you are no longer a newby when you know the ins and outs about the game. The few that do have most likely at least managed to stay in master or elite a few seasons.
I still feel like a newby, though I have a decent basic grasp of the game, there are still lots of mistakes I'm making in choices like tyres, testing and sometimes qualification risks.
Telling someone FOBY is downright rude in my opinion. That still feels like the most demotivation thing to say to anyone who has just started. If someone has nothing better to say then FOBY, they should just not say anything, because that makes rookies running away from GPRO.

You're only a noob in someone else's eye usually because they know something you don't. Pretty stupid term that is overused now, came from games like Runescape I think when the game actually classed you as a newbie during the tutorial. That's where I first encountered the word anyway...

Your 1st point, Your 1st fastest lap, Your 1st podium, Your 1st win
And getting your 2nd star 50 races
Then you not a newbie :-)

When they come from another game and already know the fundamentals of manager games. Then you can expect them to fly up the rankings. Two notable names (IMO) in this case are Neil Vaughn ([Blacklisted]) & RM Jones (GP manager pro).
Also, if you're Sion and have such a high level of intelligence :P

Newbie, or not newbie, that is the question.
We are all eternal Newbies
1.What's in a name? That which we call a newby 2.If newby's be the food of love, play on 3.All the world's a newby 4.There are more things in heaven and earth, my newby friend. 5.O Newby, Newby, wherefore art thou Newby? 6.What a piece of work is a newby 7.Something is rotten in the state of GPRO. 8.Newby's die many times before their victories. 9.Elitists, Masters, Pro's, lend this newby your ears 10.O happy Newby! 11.Hath not a Newby eyes? 12.A newby, a newby! My kingdom for a newby!
Edit: It seems I got carried away a bit there

Newbie, newb, n00b or noob is a slang term for a novice or newcomer, or somebody inexperienced in any profession or activity. Contemporary use can particularly refer to a beginner or new user of computers, often concerning Internet activity, such as online gaming[1] or Linux use.[2][3] It can have derogatory connotations, but is also often used for descriptive purposes only, without a value judgment.
